Is the bottom bracket is the sealed bearing that the crank arms attach to?
Anyway, after two yrs. and 3000 mi. my cranks are loose. The bike shop says I need a new bottom bracket. If this is true, how do I keep it from happening again, or will I just need to shell out the money every 2 years?

I just bought this bike a week ago and shifting is getting worse the more I ride it. The derailluer is shimano, although an entry level grade. The brakes (tektro) are coming loose as well. The guy at the shop said the brake problem was from me not putting the wheel back on right, but I haven't taken it off since he fixed it last and it's doing it again. He told me and another customer that since the bike has not been ridden much, it will have these problems in the beginning.

Is this true? Should I just bring the bike back for another adjustment or just take it back period?? This is frustrating for a beginner.

I know, the typical question. But, I'm purchasing a road bike (for racing) very soon and have landed on three bikes Trek 2100, Trek 1600, Cannondale Cadd 9 and Cannondale Synapse Alloy.

Anyone have any history with these bikes. I'm leaning toward the Synapse.

Thanks!

Anybody knows how to stop camelbaks from leaking? My riding shorts are always wet because the tube of my camelbak drops a little bit of water each time. I hate it so much, I have only used it for 2 years now but it's already leaking!! Hopefully there's some solution from you guys except from getting a new reservoir.

Thanks!

I used to use this type of rear rack ( http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/8/8b/Bicycle_rack.JPG/800px-Bicycle_rack.JPG ), but I bought a new rack last week ( http://img385.imageshack.us/my.php?image=30348718sc8.jpg ). As you can see, the metal strip (the red part) are bend upward and my old rack are bend downward. I think it should be attached to the seat, but I can't find any bracket or other thing I can attach it to. The rack only come with ONE bolt. How can I install it?

I was considering getting fit by a local cycling dealer that uses the SICI's program, and was wondering what people thought of this program and whether it was worth the high price. Or is the "do-it-yourself" fitting like ( http://www.competitivecyclist.com/za/CCY?PAGE=FIT_CALCULATOR_INTRO ) just as good?

Why the government is so slow in building bicycle trails for people to commute which will significantly reduce our dependence of foreign oil and global warming? This also gives people chance to excercise.

I was on a bus today and it drove past the park where I learnt to ride a bike when I was around 6 or 7 I think(Millfields Park in East London). Its funny, I always go past the park but never think anything of it, but today I did.

So I ask you, where and when did you learn to ride a bike?

I just purchased a new bike. My old bike is a Target special that I picked out on my own. After bringing my new bike home my husband mentioned that it looked small. I looked at my old bike and it is a 19.5"!

I talked with a salesperson who helped me size a bike. He originally had me trying a 16" but said it was too small. I was told the 17.5" fit me much better.

So was I wrong when I purchased my Target bike? Or is the salesperson who helped me wrong? I always worry about salespeople trying to sell me something just for a sale.
