Which mountain bike for around £300+?

I know this Q has been posted before sorry.

Firstly i have just got into mountain biking,and looking for advice on buying my second bike.

Just a good alround bike would do,but i want a good bike.Think am looking for the best make for my £.

Got told that a 2nd hand bike might be better for me?

Any advice would be welcome.

For 300, you are best getting something nice and used. If you are going to get serious about riding, you are going to want something higher quality than you could buy for that money. The first step is to figure out what size. Then look online or in local papers. Ebay is a great way to find some really nice stuff for a value.
