For cycling, you will get a bit of rub, but generally you can get away with not too much saddle movement and should be OK ish, although not for longer distances.

If you are talking horse riding. NO. The horse will move quite a bit, especially the European breeds. Even the smaller American ranch horses will have some movement. However, as soon as you get into trot you will feel the rub. Canter is not too bad, but there is still a reasonable movement that will cause blisters very quickly and, while many ranch saddles are buitifully made, the leather is quite thick and not very compfy for long rides.

However, if you are talking about not putting a saddle on a horse, YES. This will improve your ballance and posture. Make sure that you put a blanket on the horse to protect its back. Even if you only ride without styrups this is very advisable for your general riding. You might want to try some lunge sessions to improve your ballance.

P.S. This is the cycling section.

Luck
