Which one of these bikes is best for general suburban area use. Sidewalks and streets mostly, so I'm looking for comfort as well as the ability to use it for exercise. I've pretty much decided on these cheap bikes so please choose from them:

Huffy 26" Men’s Blackwater Comfort Bike -$80
Men’s Huffy Highland 18-Speed Road Bike - 26" -$90
Men’s Schwinn Cruiser Bike - 26" -$100

All can be found on Amazon if you need a picture.

A comfort bike in general is going to better for tooling around the suburbs on. I'd be careful though. Bikes bought through mass retailers like this are never the best quality and often need adjustments from the first time you pick it up. I've worked in shops for years and I can't tell you how many times people come in with bikes bought from Toy R Us that need almost full reassembly. This is dangerous and sometimes costs $100 more. You are better off going to a bike store and looking at the low end of bikes there. They have warranties and are professionally assembled.

Some of you are just jerks. I'd like to answer your question. In my opinion it's sort of like Coke and Pepsi. Both make good starter bikes and pretty good looking cruisers. I personally think that Schwinn is better quality than Huffy, but then I grew up with Schwinn bikes. Huffys were just not made as well, although I have heard their quality has improved over the years. I too am again in the market for a bike so I can start riding again. I am in my 50's so I want a comfortable bike and have no intention of mountain biking or racing, and am not out to impress anyone with a fancy expensive bike. I want comfort. I have done research, like you, and I'm sticking to my guns and buying a Schwinn. The reviews I have read on the Huffys are not all that great. One thing to keep in mind regardless of which brand you choose, aluminum frames are lighter yes, but the steel frame bikes do not wobble as much and come with a lifetime guarantee. The aluminum frames do not. Hope this helps. Good luck.
