Yeah maybe, hard to say. The thing about mtb's like that is you can always get a tall seatpost and swap out the stem for proper reach, but you might not like the handling that results. Some guys prefer a small frame, others prefer a larger frame for the same body measurements.

Best thing to do is ride several sizes and see.

Based on just your height, it seems to me that a 16 inch frame may be a little small. I am 5-8 and I ride a 17 inch mountain bike. Now everybody is different so you may need a shorter bike with a smaller reach, but it sounds a little off.

Gary Fisher makes an excellent bike. They are actually made and produced by Trek so you get the same quality. I tend to like the extras they put on Fishers rather than Treks.

Maybe. I used to have a Fisher Montare that was a 19.5" frame that fit me well (I am 6' 7" with a 36" inseam). A mountain bike frame should be smaller than one you would get for a road bike due to the typical riding terrain.

Typically that bike would be on the small side for someone over 6'. Go to a bike shop that does good fittings & see what they say. The worst thing for comfort is to have a bike too small or too big for you.
