No, the 7.2 is a hybrid bike. It is primary designed for uninspired road riding but could handle some simple trails. For unimproved trail riding, you would want a mountain bike. They have knobby tires, smaller wheels, and more agility. If your riding will primarily be on the road, you could buy a mountain bike and install "slick" tires for most days. When you want to go off road, use the tires that came with the bike.
