I loved Phil Linz. His harmonica playing is given credit for inspiring the '64 Yankees to win the pennant.

He was a bench player and he loved riding the bench for the Yankees. His quote: Play me or keep me!!

Sheffield has played for SO many teams: Brewers, Dodgers, Marlins, Padres, Braves Yankees, Tigers ... etc. If he does make the HOF, he has almost 500 homers and 1,500 RBI (Mantle-like career numbers) what team cap do you think major league baseball would pick for him?

I have a male friend in his 40's who is not interested in sports, even baseball. He was born in another country. He's been told by surprised sports fans that it seems un-American. Is It?

you supported your side & mocked at another (but without getting down to personal insults)?

But isn't that the true spirit of sport? Then why do people get unnecessarily emotional over it & report it as abuse?

This is the last homestand of the year for the Tribe. Say who you think will win each game at what the score will be. The score is the tiebreaker.

Game 1
CC Sabathia 17-7/3.15 vs Brian Bannister 12-8/3.46

Game 2
Fausto Carmona 16-8/3.20 vs Zack Greinke 6-5/3.99

Game 3
Paul Byrd 15-6/4.34 vs Billy Buckner 0-1/5.29

It's definitely something to think about! Besides him and Mo, the bullpen is terrible. They could try to use him as a starter next season, but I can't watch Bruney and the always reliable Farnsworth give up another Yankees lead in the only inning they pitch. He seems like the only lights out middle reliever on the team, and maybe the best in the AL.

Mill Creek, WA. and is an amazing left-handed power hitter. He will be the next Jim Thome, mark my words. Plays first base, DH, Right Field and Left Field. The Blue Jays suck anyway and are out of the race. Bring him up for the last 2 weeks of the season, or certainly put him on the roster for 2008. Remember his name, Travis Snider. He will be big in a few years.
