Are you automatically gifted a automatic selection into the HAll fo Fame? And what if you have 3,000 hits but you never won a ring and it took you a long time. What if you have 500 home runs?

should get in and thus, Edgar (Gar) Martinez should pave the way and become the first main DH to be elected into the HOF when he becomes eligible in 2010. Sure, Paul Molitor is in and he played some DH and so did a few other players who are in, but after the first 4 or 5 years of his career, Edgar became the most dominant DH in history for the final 13 years of his career. He played his entire career with the Seattle Mariners from 1987-2004, and his career numbers were: 2,055 Games, 7,213 At Bats, 1,219 Runs, 2,247 Hits, 514 Doubles, 15 Triples, 309 HR's, 1,261 RBI's, 1,283 Walks, 1,202 Strikeouts, .312 Batting Average, .418 On Base % and .515 Slugging %. Wow, awesome numbers. Edgar was an all-star 7 times, Silver Slugger Award winner for the AL 5 times, American League Batting Champion 2 times in '92 and '95, and many other statisical category leaders.

I would say mine is my autographed baseball from the 1976 NY Yankee team. It is original and it is authentic. I got it at a game in 1976 Red Sox vs Yankees, of course Yankees won (in the bottom of the 10th inning with 2 men out Reggie Jackson hit a home run to win the game) great memory of a great game and it has autographs of such greats as Reggie Jackson, Billy Martin, Thurman Munson, Catfish Hunter just to name a few.

Do you have to be born in the state the team plays for?
Do you have to stick with the team whether they suck or don't?
Do you have to be born in the US to like a US team?
Am I not considered a "true" Twins fan since I was born in Japan?

If their payroll is $200 mil whatever, that could pay the salaries of 800 doctors at $250,000 per year. How productive that much money could be to society if used properly, rather than feed somebodys greed to win a sport. Any team or sport really, just picking the high one. Thoughts?

Are there any MLB teams looking to move? We can use one here.

Yeah, we all know that the Phillies have live bodies that take the mound, and are loosely called pitchers who gave up 12 runs in the latest stinkburger that coincidentally, wasn't played in Colorado.

But why don't we hear about the nights that the hitters take off. I mean 30 at bats and only 4 hits? Team Valium will have to be broken up shortly as Ryan and Chase get their due cash. And to think, this team is going to be worse in the next two seasons. But can anyone honestly believe that this "team" has what it takes to even contend for the Wild Card gimmick? Does Monty and Co. actually believe that this collection of swans can get any real knowledgable baseball fan excited?

Actually I'm an Athletics fan and I just LOOOOVE bashing the Philthies. Yeah, I know, they are statistically 5-1/2 games worse that the Pinstriped Pretenders but I ain't worried, The A's are a baseball organization first, an investment second.

For the past 2 baseball seasons, the Chicago Cubs have opened the season in Cincinnati, and it is hard to believe that the 2007 season is almost over. But where where would you like to see the Chicago Cubs open in 2008. And why would you like to see them open up there? If you say at Wrigley Field, who would you like to seem them play, and why?

hits, 1,170 runs, 432 Doubles, .259 BA. He won the WS 2 times in 1992 & 1993 as a key member of the Blue Jays and was WS MVP in 1993 after hitting a walk-off home-run to win it off Mitch Williams. He had over 100 rbi's 10 times in his career. 5 time all-star. Silver Slugger award 2 times. Only downside to me is that he had 1,387 Strikeouts and low On Base % of .306. Hey, if Kirby Puckett made it in because of his 2 WS rings, so should Carter. Anyone else agree that Joe Carter should be in the HOF one day?

I'll give my top 5 as an example.

1. Hank Aaron's 715
2. Kirk Gibson's limping HR in World Series
3. Carlton Fisk's "wave it fair" home run
4. Joe Carter's walk off homer in 1993 WS
5. Cal Ripken breaks the consecutive games record

If you want, you can put more than 5.

If the Yankees end up winning the division, will they feel so darn good about having overcome their huge deficits behind the Red Sox that it could affect them negatively in the playoffs? Should Yankee fans be rooting for them to pass the BloSox, or just accept the wild card on the way to their 27th World Championship this year?
