I think you should expect to see the greatest current rivalry in sports. The pitching matchups are great (Pettitte v. Dice K; Wang v. Beckett (could decide the Cy Young); and Clemens v. Schilling (two hall of famers)). And, although the Yanks are 5.5 games back, Boston cannot afford to get swept (remember the Boston Massacre last year - Only 2.5 games with 13 remaining would separate the two) and the Yanks need to win every game to ensure a playoff spot. Should be compelling baseball whether or not you're a fan of either team. For disclosure purposes, I'm a NYY fan.

As per all Yankee/Red Sox series no one really knows what to expect. The Red Sox fans will be their regular arrogant selves hoping that their team puts a strong hold on the division by winning at least two games.

The Yankees on the other hand need to win at least two in order to all but clinch the wild card position. As always the series will draw most of the media attention and should be fun!

Don't expect a sweep from either team its gonna be a fight to the end....I would expect most of these games to be a pitcher's duel not a slug fest but one never knows.

This is the best rivalry in Baseball your gonna see a three game set that is going to be electric......Both teams i am sure are going to cry as well as the fans there is bound to be a controversial play call or something along those lines....As a Yankee fan I think the Yankees will win two of the three games!!! (if the pitching holds up)

ESPN will think this is more important than anything else, and will show two games this weekend. They will shove this rivalry down your throats because they are an east coast station. I expect that those of us who live in Big 10 country will not care.

If the Redsox aren't over the two pitches that Joba Chamberlain threw behind Youkalis than its gonna be a Brawl in Beantown. Ejections will dominate this series.

its kinda of important but not really even if the yankees sweep there 2.5 back and that means either yankees or red soxs will be wild card. either way they both end up in the playoffs.

I expect & hope the Yanks will take 2 out of 3. If they sweep it will be an extra bonus.
