10. George Steinbrenner is a dirtbag. He had a hand in the Watergate scandal and he's the only owner ever to be banned from baseball until Bud Selig became commissioner and for some reason decided to allow him to make public appearances again.
9. The fans are pompous, they feel that the Yankees are above baseball and act as if Yankee history is far more important than baseball history.
8. They can't say oh well, we screwed up this year, instead they go out at the trade deadline when they need to and buy players like bobby abreu
7. Their fans are rude and obnoxious. I don't remember any other stadium where riot squads needed to be brought in when an umpire made the wrong call let alone the right call like they made in the 2004 ALCS game 6. (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00Jx0pMXPd0 for more details on why Yankee fans are awful).
6. ESPN and other major media outlets constantly suck up to them
5. The legends have gotten out of hand, Mikey Mantle did not hit a 600 foot home run (you would think the legends would follow common sense) and Babe Ruth didn't call his shot, he pointed at the pitcher in a threatening manner.
4. Watch the YES network and you'll pick up an extremely arrogant tone almost immediately.
3. For goodness sake, Thurmon Munson was not one of the greatest catchers of all time and Reggie Jackson had a lifetime .260 batting average with a low OBP and more strikeouts than anyone in history. Just because a player is a Yankee does not make him any greater than any player on any other team.
2. Shut up about Mikey Mantle, Lou Gehrig was much better and so was Ted Williams
1. They spend too much money and in turn are preventing other teams from drawing fans due to the gap they are creating between the haves and have-nots...and the win all the time.

As I am typing, there are 19 answers to this question. About 2 of them are NOT against the Yanks. The rest are pretty much hate comments. While the rest of the people who see this question write novels on why to hate the Yankees, you all should know that you can't bring the Yanks down, and you certainly cannot bring down the Yanks fan base. No matter what you do. I just hope you know that.

Yankees Love. <3

I think if anyone actually takes time to think of ten answers about hating something, then they have no lives, no friends, and live a sad, miserable existence.

Also, I'm a Yankee fan, so I don't hate them.

There is not a single reason I can think of to hate anything involving baseball. The Yankees are one of 30 teams doing everything they can to bring a championship to their city.
