Is it normal to have a sore arm especially at the elbow after playing long toss and practicing hitting for a long time? And if so is it anything serious? also what causes it and is there anything I can do to prevent it. It seems like whatever I do now my elbow seems to hurt.

Not unusual if you have thrown too much. Ice your elbow for 15-30 minutes.

You should not play long toss for more than 50 throws. After the 50th toss move back to a short distance if you want to keep throwing the ball and don't throw more than 75 or so. And you might want to ice your arm afterwards but you shouldn't have to.

Batting practice shouldn't be that long either. Probably about 30 pitches, and don't swing at pitches that aren't strikes except at the end when you pretend uyou have 2 strikes on you and are protecting the plate.

Not unusual if you don't warm up properly and/or if you don't throw very often. It is probably not serious but if the sore arm is still around in two to three days go see a doctor.

its normal if you don't warm up enough, Na its not serious it goes away after a day or 2 of rest. What could have caused it might have been tired ligaments and have been stretched to a little bit to much. Just tell u're coach u need some rest and ull be back tommorow fresh, trust me i play baseball my self.

Overthrowing or tossing will cause that problem.Putting some ice on it will help.
