Kansas City, no doubt. The guys in the Royals clubhouse were talking about how after ending that 7 game skid earlier this week, they just all feel more comfortable out there. They got past their personal magic number of 62 wins and its time for them to just roll through September. Tonights matchup is gonna be a good one, Bannister vs. Sabathia.

Gumption: Boldness of enterprise; initiative or aggressiveness.
Guts; spunk.
Common sense.
I would have to go with KC at this point, they are fighting to do something that they have not done for sometime...stay out of last place, they also want to send Buddy Bell off with a decent feeling about the season. Personally I would just be glad to send Buddy Bell off! Cleveland is getting complacent in the spot they are in, they feel now like they have a big enough lead to coast into the playoffs. KC is nutting up for the rest of the season to show what they really have!

I am going to have to say Cleveland. Teams that want to get into the playoffs usually fight harder than teams just getting out of last place. The only prize KC will get at getting out of last place is less embarrassment, and a worse draft pick -- not exactly the best things to receive for playing your behinds off! I don't think there's enough glory in the end for KC to have more gumption than Cleveland does. Cleveland at one point was playing just awful baseball. Gumption is defined as bold, taking the initiative. Cleveland, therefore, is taking the initiative to get into the playoffs. They took advantage of a lot of Tiger losses. Cleveland seems to be in the zone of winning and they don't look like they are going to let up anytime soon!

I would like KC to win but since the Indians are fighting to keep a playoff spot they should win the series.

Gumption is one thing but talent is another. You have to give the edge to Cleveland.

I'd say Kansas City.
No matter what hole there in, they always enjoy a win, even if it doesn't mean much, and they always get upset when they lose.
And Kansas City has been hanging around last place for quite a while now, I think there going to try there best to NOT fall to the White Sox...
I mean, how bad would that be? Fall to the White Sox...errr...Whiny Sux?
