It's definitely something to think about! Besides him and Mo, the bullpen is terrible. They could try to use him as a starter next season, but I can't watch Bruney and the always reliable Farnsworth give up another Yankees lead in the only inning they pitch. He seems like the only lights out middle reliever on the team, and maybe the best in the AL.

Joba is going to start interior the bullpen because of the fact this is all a continuation of the "Joba regulations". they like to shrink his innings so as that they are commencing him interior the bullpen. whilst proscribing his innings, he won't tire and burn out on the top of the season. this is prepared approximately his wellness and the Yankees wellness. Joba has the makings of a dominant pitcher and the Yankees are not speeding him. Joba should not be a alternative of MO. The Yankees will in all threat call somebody as much as start up in his place. in the event that they did no longer commerce for Santana or Bedard or Haren is by using the fact they like to verify how there farm equipment works out. frequently Cashman would commerce the extra youthful gamers for solid veterans, yet now issues are changing. i do no longer think of Cashman is going to commerce for Kazmir. i think of that he's going to be as complicated headed as ever and not commerce in any respect until eventually an harm occurs. I agree that the Yanks choose a left surpassed pitcher, however the Rays are going to choose like 4 gamers that the vendors and Cashman are not going to offer up. Wang, Petite, Phil Hughes, Kennedy, and Mussina/Joba. Joba is going to take the two Kennedy's or Mussina activity this 365 days.

For this year yes. The Yankees need bullpen help. Next year I think the Yankees should slowly turn Joba into a starter again. Can you imangine a rotation with Wang, Petitte, Possibly Johan Santana, Hughes, and Ian Kennedy or Joba?

Farnsworth sucks big time. I still would love to see Joba pitch nine innings. He's great in relief but with a 100+ mph fastball this kid could be a 20 game winner next year. Imagine a rotation with Pettite, Joba, Ian Kennedy, Philip Hughes and Mussina next year. Thats nasty.

well most relievers are former starters and since the bullpen is shaky like you said maybe they'll think about it.
IMO, I honestly believe that joba will be a starter next year. (over mussina atleast)

I'm not ready to toss Mo aside any time soon regardless of his struggles from time to time. Mo just needs to work the plate more and throw more balls. All of his pitches seem to be in the strike zone.
Joba is doing a superb job where he is. Like the old saying goes, "It it ain't broke then don't fix it".

i think they should groom him to be a closer.as we seen in the past how mariano rivera was so valuable in the yankees success.also its about 185 or so innings per year compared to like 95 innings where as a closer they are all important .i dont the yankees would not have won without mariano rivera .
