Mill Creek, WA. and is an amazing left-handed power hitter. He will be the next Jim Thome, mark my words. Plays first base, DH, Right Field and Left Field. The Blue Jays suck anyway and are out of the race. Bring him up for the last 2 weeks of the season, or certainly put him on the roster for 2008. Remember his name, Travis Snider. He will be big in a few years.

In Class A ball this year for the Lansing Lugnuts, the affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, this slugger put up some great numbers. He batted .313 in 457 At Bats, with 143 hits, 16 HR's and 93 RBI's. Sounds pretty damn good to me for a 19 year old fresh out of high school, and the kid is big. 5' 11" 245#. Not Prince Fielder size, but Prince Fielder pop. He would routinely hit the ball way out of the High School ballpark at Jackson High in Mill Creek, WA. Like way out, distances no other player in the state have ever hit. Like 450-500 feet, Mickey Mantle kinda distance.

This kid doesn't need that kinda time, I'm telling you, he's the next Jim Thome.

I think they are definitely for real. I mean, throughout the past few years they've always had a ton of potential but just never lived up to it. This year is going to be the year they finally live up to the potential and are a real contender this year. But, even though I think they will be a contender I don't think they will win the division. I know this is a bit biased but I think the Red Sox can take the division this year. The Red Sox are just too good. They have their holes but nothing major really. Everyone was nervous about the hitting but they have proven those people wrong in a big. And, we've done it without the hitting of David Ortiz for the most part. If he can come around then they will win the division with no problem. Plus they have Smoltz coming towards the summer and he has shown in the past that he can be lights out. I think they Jays will win the wildcard. The wildcard has gone to a team in the AL east a lot in the recent past. It seemed to switch back from the Sox to the Yankees and I think the Jays will get it this year.

His numbers were good, but getting called up from A-ball to the majors *never* happens. The gulf between A-ball and AA, let alone the majors, is a huge change. He's only in his 2nd year of pro-ball, and the team doesn't need to put him on the 40-man roster until his 4th or 5th year. At this point, Snider would have to be putting up great numbers in AA or AAA to justify the team putting him on the roster, and Snider simply isn't there yet.

Dude, take it easy. Nothing in baseball is a given. Yes, he put up some good numbers there, but its only Single A ball. No one goes from Single A to the majors. He'll probably start in AA next year and if he's good move up to AAA and go to the majors the year after.

He needs time to develop. Remember Bill Pulsipher of the Mets? You probably dont. He was supposed to be the next Gred Maddux.

High school and Class A are a tad bit different than the major leagues.

He might be the next Jim Thome, he might be the next Kevin Maas.

they want him to develop, give it a few years maybe next year but it takes awhile, they start in single A move to double A and then triple A ball and then majors it takes time to move through all them
