In a bar, watching the game, watching the shocked reactions of the Red Sox fans, who figured that their time had finally come with a World Series win.......not to be ! Sad that Buckner will always be remembered by that play. He was playing injured at the time....He was a great player for many years with the Cubs before coming to the Sox.

I was at home watching on television. I wanted the Red Sox to win, but I don't blame Buckner Who was the Red Sox manager at the time? If there was ever a time for a late inning defensive replacement, it was then. If they had someone capable of being a defensive replacement, blame the manager. If they didn't, blame the general manager.
