They are basing this on creativity ,talent,singing ability,loyalty to the Cubs & passion for the team. My Mom was a die hard Cub fan & she passed a way in Dec. of last year & I thought this would be a great tribute to her. I have never sang in front of a group of people & I am vary nervous anyone have any ideas on how I can make this an audition for them to remember?

Expressing interest in pitchers like (especially) Dontrelle Willis, Javier Vazquez, and Livan Hernandez-amongst others, along with other players like Mark Teixeira and Jermaine Dye, when do you think Seattle will make it's move? They're in the midst of a 6 game skid against two pretty bad teams in Texas and Toronto. It looks as if Guillen and Sexson are on the block, and I've heard Wladimir Balentin's name hung out there as well.

I understand that some of Babe Ruth's 714 home runs bounced from the outfield and then into the stands but at the time that he played, these hits were ruled as home runs; where as today they are counted as ground rule doubles.

Does anyone know if this is true and if so, how many of his home runs happened this way.

Curt Schilling calls out Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire, saying that they have given legitimacy to steroid accusations leveled against them. The Red Sox pitcher also thinks that Jose Canseco should have to give back his MVP trophy.

After an entire season of questions and speculation, Commissioner Bud Selig has finally announced his plans for attending Barry Bonds' record breaking 756th home run game:
"Throughout this season, I have watched Barry Bonds' pursuit of the home run record. Now that he is on the verge of tying the record, the time has come to announce that I will make every attempt to attend the record-setting moment," Selig said in a statement.

"Out of respect for the tradition of this game, the magnitude of the record, and the fact that all citizens in this country are innocent until proven guilty, I will attend Barry Bonds' next games to observe his potential tying and breaking of the home run record, subject to my commitments to the Hall of Fame this weekend."
Well, looks to me like Bud carefully chose his words there. Privately, he's probably hoping that Barry breaks the record over the weekend so he doesn't have to be there. Now that would leave the door open for a lot of criticism -- which should Bud attend -- the Hall of Fame inductions, or Barry's games? Either way, most people finally received the answer they were waiting for, and the answer they felt Bonds and baseball deserved.

This question is mainly for yankee fans. I have been enjoying getting them all riled up with my questions and answers. I thought I'd give you a chance to see what it would take to get me riled up.
Go ahead and tell me The Tigers lost 119 games 4 years ago. I know that, and it's amzing how far they have come since then.
Go ahead and tell me they choked in the World Series last year; with our pitchers setting a new WS record 5 errors. WHOA! How cool was that? The Tigers WENT to the WS, after 12 straight losing seasons. Pretty amazing,eh? And that experience they gained from that will only make them stronger.
Go ahead and tell me we cant even beat KC or The White Sux...but we'll still in 1st place? Go ahead and tell me our bullpen blows a lot of leads. It's Ok, Rodney & Zumaya are coming back soon. Go ahead and tell me Sheffield is a loud mouth and will hurt this team---not with his bat he won't.

Go ahead, and hit me with your best shot.

I know it's just a rumor for now, but I just read on Yahoo Sports that the White Sox are thinking of dealing Jon Garland for Edgar Renteria. I am not taking anything away from Garland, but why would you want to trade your most consistent player this year for someone who might not help your pitching staff much at all. I know they have Yunel Escobar, but is he worth trading away Renteria now. I just want some thoughts on this.
