I'm assuming by young you mean 25 and under, so I'll stick with that age limitation.

While it is tough to say with any degree of certainty which young players will go on to Hall of Fame careers, the following certainly seem to be on the right track.

- Miguel Cabrera
- Jose Reyes
- David Wright
- Hanley Ramirez (amazing over the past 15 years how many high quality shortstops have emerged)
- Grady Sizemore
- Joe Mauer

I'm sure there are a few others slipping my mind. :-)

I can think some who have the potential if they keep up their pace:

1. Albert Pujols
2. Hanley Ramirez
3. Jose Reyes
4. Ryan Howard
5. Adam Dunn (hey he has 225 HR's and he's only 27)
6. Alfonso Soriano
7. Miguel Cabrerra
8. Grady Sizemore
9. Justin Morneau
10. Joe Mauer

There's 10 of 'em I'm not including anybody who's a rookie this year or anybody over 30.

If he pitches as well as he has, for years to come, there's no way that Jonathan Papelbon will not make the Hall-of-Fame. He has the stuff and the intensity of a great pitcher; if his arm can stay healthy, he will definitely make a run at the all-time saves record. Especially pitching in Boston, where the future is clear; we have great pitching prospects to help set him up for save opportunities. He is 26 years old and has pitched 36.2 innings this season, while keeping 1.72ERA and recording 53Ks. He has converted 23 of 24 save opps and has 58 career saves in just these two seasons. He is definitely hall of fame material.
