OK: I slid at third the 2nd base ump called me safe. Then the home plate came up to have a talk with the 2nd base ump. Then he called me out. Is that legal?

I read this on the internet, it's probably just wishful thinking by Yankee fans but what do you think about it?

Why don't we allow the BBWAA and Veterans Committee to vote purely based on baseball qualifications. If a player qualifies by merit, the player is then contacted and told "congratulations you qualify for the hall of fame. If you want to be inducted however, we're going to need to need you to take a simple polygraph test." Then administer a polygraph asking such questions as "have you ever bet on baseball" or "to your knowledge have you ever used or been administered steroids". If they pass they're in, if not, they can come back next year and take the polygraph again (allowing for the rare false positives or inconclusives). If they die before they pass they're permanently disqualified. Point out to me why this is a bad idea.

Roger Clemens - 350 wins?
Barry Bonds - 756 HR?

I believe it is Roger's 350 wins. First of all, he didn't do it with steroids. Second, he had to pitch when a lot of baseball players were jacked up with steroids! To get to 350 wins would be very tough. What do you think?? Oh, here are two pictures---

1. Barry Bonds rookie card
2. Barry Bonds now

Those pictures are just to make a point. Anyways, who do you think has the more impressive milestone?

If a player has a contract for $1 million a year, how often does he receive a paycheck?

I know for football the salary is paid equally for each game the player plays. He would get 1/16 of his million every Sunday. If he is hurt (except IR), he does not get paid that week.

So do MLB players get 1/162 of their million each game day? If so, what about pitchers who only play every 4-5 games?

it seems fans think all players are robots and they can't go in slumps and sometimes are no longer good. fans expect them to play at a certain level day in and day out.

Jake Peavy vs. Josh Beckett!!! Possible All-Star game match-up as well. And who do you think will get the upper hand? Beckett has allowed close to five runs this month, with the exception of his last game, and of course Peavy has been lights out this month.

I have to tell you I spend a great deal of my life watching, reading stats, injury reports, box scores, etc. I for some reason enjoy BaseBall more than any sport- and even in contest where you have to pick winners against Vegas odds etc, like on http://www.CrazyDaddy.net , I win at a higher rate. I have won Vacations, Trips, Money, Contests, you name it.

What in your opinion makes baseball a more enjoyable Sport to concentrate your betting efforts on?
