They where in a slight funk/slump. They have since gone a 3 game winning streak and seem to be back on track.

These thing happen over such a long season.

Too many grandpas on the team like: Pedro, Green, Glavine, Alou. (half of them on DL but getting great paychecks).

Guys like Delgado and Beltran not performing.

They are the Mets!

I'm a Braves fan and I'm not complaining. Mets fans whine too much. Be glad they even win ball games. There was a time when they had no chance. You would think after being dominated for over a decade Mets fans would be thankful. Phillies fans don't complain quite as much. I find it funny how the Braves are 1.5 games back and have a payroll that's way less.

Baseball fans seem to live and die on each swing of the bat and each game that is played. Every team has their up and down periods during the long season, including the Mets. Just look at their team, they have both hitting and pitching and that should carry them to the playoffs at the end of the season. If the Mets are your team just sit back and enjoy the season, you will probably have a big smile on your face at seasons end.

I have been following baseball for many, many years. Every good team has at least one point every season when it seems like they just can't win. Trust me, it will pass. The Mets have too much talent and pitching for this to continue much longer. If you flip a coin 162 times in a row, you may get a streak of ten tails in a row, but over time it evens out. So don't worry - the Mets will be fine!

They just realized that they really don't have great starting pitching. They should turn is around a bit when they get Pedro back, but I don't know if they'll be able to do well. Wright, Reyes, and Delgado are doign well, and Beltran should be back up to speed soon. We'll see...
