Always overrated. Money doesn't buy chemistry. It could buy pitching though which they have, and that doesn't quite work out often. My philosophy is don't buy FA pitchers that's usually disaster. Look at the top paid FA pitchers in the league. Zito for example or Pedro, and in their case Pavano. I think the Yanks should focus on home-growing pitching not trying to buy it.

With that payroll? Way overrated. The playoffs, and world series should not be a question with the talent on that team. Yet they are struggling. even though the season is FAR from over the fact that they are the Yankees, and are expected to win and are not. then they are overrated.

Right now they are overrated...Before the season started I don't think anyone thought they would be playing barely over .500 this far into the season...for that reason alone they are overrated. However, there is still over half a season to go though...lets just hope they stay overrated!

id say they are rated just rite, which for the yankees is still pretty over the top
but just look at the facts and take away the name and the payroll and here is wut u have
2nd place in the Division
Just over .500 club
Winning when they should and Losing when they shouldnt
Injuries
that sounds like 4 or 5 major league teams, but because of the yankees payroll they become segregated from the rest of the league
id rate them as just right because they arent playing like the yanks, they are playing like the rest of the MLB

Depends what you are comparing them to I suppose.
Any current team, they are over rated because they are a great much better in performance than they are in salary spent on performance.
If you are comparing them to the world series teams that they had in the late 90's, then yes, they are over rated by far there too.
If you are comparing them to the past teams that were only mediocre, then they are rated just right.
I don't believe there is a comparison for them to be under rated.

Overrated. They need to win at least 100 games to be worth the amount of money they spend.

Definitely over rated!! Their starting pitching staff, including Mussina and Clemens, is pathetic, and their bullpen isn't much better. They are a group of prima donnas and not TEAM players, except for Jeter.
Chow!!

the place he must be. undergo in concepts in Smackdown days in 2006 with him as worldwide Champion? It replaced into terrible. He Jobbed to anybody on SD and beat human beings on PPVs. putting him in Mid-enjoying cards are greater advantageous yet i could quite him drop the IC belt to somebody youthful that desires it.
