Jake Peavy vs. Josh Beckett!!! Possible All-Star game match-up as well. And who do you think will get the upper hand? Beckett has allowed close to five runs this month, with the exception of his last game, and of course Peavy has been lights out this month.

depends on whos hot that day, but peavy is awesome, and beckett is very streaky, so the edge goes to peavy.

Its too tough to make a call on something like this. Beckett is a great pitcher, but Peavy has definitely shown he has great stuff on the mound. It's easy to say it will be a low scoring game. I say after Peavy leaves the game, Sox will pull off a victory. If Beckett can outlast Peavy he will get the W. This in mind, I can feel a save opportunity for Paps here.

I'm going to give the advantage to the Red Sox is this match-up. J.D. Drew and Dustin Pedroia are finally starting to "set the table" for Big Papi and Man Ram. Coco Crisp is also hitting well recently. However, look for either Mike Lowell or Russell Branyan to provide a big hit in the game. They are to only 2 players who have previous success against the opposing pitcher. The best offensive player for the Padres, Adrian Gonzalez, has never faced Beckett so I expect him to struggle. The pitchers will keep the game low scoring but the superior offense of the Red Sox will get them the win.

That is going to be a great game...I hope the Sox can get to Peavy and give Beckett his 11th win!

It will indeed be a great game. However, most games that come with that billing usually do not meet expectations. If both pitchers are on their game, I'd give the nod to Beckett because he has better run scoring support.

Chow!!
