because i have a friend called sameera, she supports michael schumacher buts hes retired now and now she supports kimi and lewis but shes says she is a f1 fan but i think shes not an f1 fan, well what i mean by that, i mean,

she doesn't watch every race,
she knows nothing about the drivers she supports,
she doesn't know who senna is or the past of f1,
and she doesn't watch the whole race,
and she hasn't seen a full race this year,

and it goes on...............
and to be an f1 as people say you have to support a team and driver but theres more to that !

so my question is to be an f1 should you least know about the past on f1 as in senna, prost times or james hunt or jackie stewart times etc... ?

first he is the Yoko Ono of American open wheel racing, now he's the Lee Harvey Oswald of American formula 1 racing, I hope the France family have him on their x-mass card list because they are the only people he's helping with is careless "business" endeavors as much as I love racing I thinking im going to boycott the IRL, since he wants to ruin all the other open wheel series I will do my part to ruin his, do you agree or disagree?

New to watching Formula racing......I noticed a square plate with upcurving straps on the ground in the pit box of some cars. Seems to be about midway under the car when the car is stopped. Does anyone know what it is or it is used for? I thought maybe to discharge static electricity or something. Just curious.

Where do you think Fernando will end up in 2008? Everyone's saying he's done his dash with McLaren but what are his options? Renault is the most obvious but it doesn't look like it will be a front runner going on this year's results. Also, who do you see as the stars of the future among NEW drivers? I think Lewis has already proved his worth. I would say maybe Sebastian Vettel ( you have to compare a driver against his teammate - not against another car). Any thoughts?

To follow on from my previously asked question, reference anyone miss BBC F1 coverage (uninterupted LIVE racing)Anyone know how we can create or start an online petition to try and get ITV to make live racing split screen (live race one side & advets the other), so we can see all the action live that we usually miss due to advertisment breaks...

Hamilton admitted pressing the green "N" button which kicked his vehicle into nuetral during the race...and ON BOARD video confirms it. Question: Why does McLaren insist on trying to cover this??? What's the big deal?

Here's their (McLaren's) responses in the media:

A McLaren spokeswoman elaborated: "It was due to a default in the gearbox that selected neutral for a period of time.

"It was not as a result of Lewis pressing an incorrect button on his steering wheel," she added.

McLaren chief executive Martin Whitmarsh explained: "It would appear that the barrels that change gear went out of control - and out of control of the driver - and that's probably hydraulic."

My friend is 6'10" and he is interested in becoming a race car driver and he asked me what I thought about him becoming one, but I think he's too tall to fit into most cars for F1, or even for Nascar. I want to double check first before I tell him what I think.
