This is very debate able you can go by brilliance or statistics. Some note ables besides the Kimi, Senna and M. Schumaher are people like Gilles Villenuve, Grahm Hill, Jim Clark.
I have to say that Kimi and Senna had it harder because of the team they had driven for at the time, McLaren and there tea mates. Michael's team was formed around him. He was always undoubtedly the #1 driver where he would get the preferred setup, pit strategy and team backing. This led to team mates helping him to win. I don't think he really had a good teammate. Barichello and Irvine were so so drivers. It would have been interesting to see on equal terms, equal car show he would have done vs. Kimi and Alonso.
Hekki Kovalanien beat him at the Race of Champions in a Ferrari 360 in 2004 or 2005.

Michael Schumacher without a doubt.
He has the best stats of all time!
7 time world champion,91 wins,68 pole positions...
He is better than all drivers of the past and now.If Schumi was still here,he would beat Lewis easily!
P.S Kimi's done a great job of filling Schumi's shoes, goes to show you can't beat Ferrari all the time!

Michael Schumacher is probably the best F1 driver EVER... his record would indicate that and watching him drive over the years... I can't think of anyone who is better... Alonso only won because Michael had technical problems, remember... Kimi almost never won against Michael and, of course, Louis wasn't in the F1 scene when Michael was driving.

Ayrton Senna without a doubt
You Schumi supporters forget that when Senna was champion in '88, '90 and '91, the cars had manual gearboxes (with stick-shift), slick tyres, there was no launch control, no traction control, no power steering and no anti-stall systems.
The cars these days rely too much on aerodynamics and computers. They might as well be remote controlled; roll on 2008 with no traction control.
AND BRING BACK SLICK TYRES, WE HAD PROPER RACING UNTIL 1997!!!
Best current F1 driver has got to be Kimi though.

Best ever would be either Michael or Senna. Best for now, I'd say Kimi. He deserves the title.

As of this year, Kimi Raikkonen. But Senna and Michael are both brilliant. The two quicksters and rain masters!
