To follow on from my previously asked question, reference anyone miss BBC F1 coverage (uninterupted LIVE racing)Anyone know how we can create or start an online petition to try and get ITV to make live racing split screen (live race one side & advets the other), so we can see all the action live that we usually miss due to advertisment breaks...

Yes, but I doubt that will make any impact on banning the adverts. After all, the ads are the ones bringing in the money. Not much we can do then.

Well I'm with you on this one but I don't think its going to happen, not yet anyway.
ITV get so much revenue from the advertisers especially during something like the last race of the season when theres a 3 way battle for the title (they had record viewers since 2000) I wonder how much they hicked up the price of air time for commercials during this race..
I like the coverage with all the interviews and tech stuff, its far better than it was with the BBC,its just those damm bloody adverts spoil it.

The problem we all face is that there is only one station covering the event unlike say MOTO GP which is covered by Eurosport and which I think BBC2 show some of the races, if not all but I prefer Eurosports coverage although it also has commercials(I just flick between channels until its back on).
Its not the adverts them selves that's the problem as much as the length of them, and frequency of them.
Maybe they should look in to having a split screen when the event is on,I'm sure the technology is there now,I've read its available in the U.S. already so why not here. Why not spend some of this advertising revenue and get it sorted.
As for a petition if anyone knows of one then send me an email,I'll put my name to it.

In-fact if someone was to was to ask the question on here something like "F1 Petition against intrusive ads" and then email all the replys to ITV would that be a start???? Any views???

Yes!!! I agree. It's really annoying to miss part of the race due to commercials. I understand they are needed as they pay for the F1 coverage. But that doesn't mean we have to miss a few minutes of our racing. Your suggestion of a split screen is a good idea.

I also have an idea of my own which is to have a small marquee (those things running at the bottom of the screen. Is that what it's called?) at the bottom of the screen. The size of the adverts should also be kept to a minimum or else we get annoyingly small screens of racing where we can hardly see a thing. Maybe we all could start sending ITV suggestions via e-mail

As much as i find them annoying and usually at the wrong time, it does help when to decide when i should go to the bathroom, at least i can blame itv then. When it was on the BBC I used to always go at the wrong time.
I'd sign a petition

Yeah you should, can you believe they were on commercial when the most important parts of the Brazilian Gp was going on? If this petition doesn't work, get a petition to have two channels to broadcast F1 so you can flick through channels during ad breaks. Believe it or not, when seeing ads in the middle of an important part of the show, I tend to hate the product being commercialised for intruding...

No, but I think we should sign the petition to get rid of James Allen! I'm interested to know what is happening to the other 21 drivers not named Lewis Hamilton. He yammers on about Hamilton this and Hamilton that. It's just getting very tiresome!

Good idea!
How do you think it would go down if Rooney was in front of goal, about to receive the ball, and they cut to ads?
There would be national outrage!
Maybe I'm just being nostalgic, but I enjoyed F1 far more on the Beeb, with the groovy Fleetwood Mac intro, and of course, dear old Murray!

I wish we could but I don't think they'd listen. Remember, it is their contract with the sponsors to show their ads in every show. So what's the point?!

P.S. Bring back Muzza!
