For International sporting events Turkey is considered as European. They play in the Football European championships.
They also compete in the European Championships for Athletics.
Where a track is physically located does not mean much, the San Marino Grand Prix is in Italy for example. The Luxembourg Grand Prix was held in Austria.

Well you answered your question. It's on the Asian side so it's considered an Asian track. But Turkey is filed under the category of Eurasian countries.

you've got me thinking now. i was in Turkey earlier this year when i bought my insurance it was classified as Europe, even though where i went was right over in the south east near Iraq. Geographically i would say Asian although it is easily accessible by Ferry which is how the teams transport most of their equipment and the cars etc around Europe.

I don't think it comes under the european part of the championship.
Then again it was placed in the middle between the Hungarian and the Italian gp... so maybe it is afterall?
