Yep. I grew up going to Macon Speedway, in Macon, Illinois. this is the track that is now owned by Ken Schrader, Kenny Wallace, and Tony Stewart. My dad and my uncle have raced there for almost 40 years. My 2 cousins that race there have been doing so for over 10 years. I am kind of the "black sheep" in that I race off road, instead of oval. I still crew for my dad, and help out on the other's car's when they need my help. I may eventually get back into racing (on the driving end that is), and run at Macon myself.

BTW...My dad runs UMP Late Models, and my uncle and cousins all run UMP Sportsmans.

Yes Mame I was pretty fortunate when I was hitting the local tracks we had a Lorain county and Sandusky speedway and Lorain would race like on Friday and Sandusky Saturday then it moved to Sat Sun but the cool thing was you always had a big field of drivers and fans and rivalries.
Today our local tracks a struggling just a little and it isn't quit as much fun but yes I do go and I hit more of the special events like at Toledo, Mansfield, Atica and our big time some what local track is Mid Ohio I go there several times a year.

You bet I do. I go to the local tracks alot more than any nascar track. Ive been going to eldora my entire life because my dad and uncles used to race there and now I go to Eldora,Lima,Atiica, Fremont, Shadybowl, Kilkare. Sometimes Ill even go over to Indiana to Kokomo, Gas City and Lwernceburg. But im afraid that you will be hard pressed to find a community that supports the local short tracks as much as your own does. PA has got to be the most competetive place in the country for a sprint car driver.

I live quite near Castle Coombe race track (UK) and we go up there to watch my friend's brother race mini's. its only a small track but is always got something going on. we have great fun. as i am disabled and can't walk far we get to park inside in what would be the nearest thing to the paddock. its great fun watching all the guys getting their various vehicles ready for the races. there are GT races, single seaters, mini's Ferrari's etc etc. all in all a good day for your average petrol head lol.

I try and hit as many tracks as I can. I'd rather be at the local short tracks than attend even one Cup event. The list of tracks I've been to is pretty long and I try to hit at least one new one each season.
