In Martinsville this past weekend-10/21/07 Kevin Harvick finished 10th and earned $131,761 and Clint Bowyer finished one spot ahead in 9th and only earned $85,625...also David Ragan finished 26th and earned more money than 11 other drivers finishing ahead of him...why the discrepency?

why is it in the f1 section ?

Prize money isn't just based on where you finish. It's based on where you start, where you are on X lap, and what awards you get from contingency sponsors. Eventually finishing enters into it.

But yeah, this doesn't belong in the Formula 1 section.

Sorry this is Nextel stuff or whatever so I'm lost beyond belief (and belongs in the wrong section...). But put it this way, the sponsors may have a hand in it.

It depends on their team or sponsors, I guess. This is not F1, by the way.

Sponsor monies and show up Gaurantees also you have to facor in laps led monies!!!!

it all depends on there sponsers they have and what team they drive from...it has nothing to do with the driver themselves....they dont pick favoriotes to pay more or less...
