why to referees give out penalties during a playoff for example, the very last game that determines who wins , with about 9 minutes left on the clock....and for one player.....a total of perhaps.....100 minutes for one player.....now do those minutes carry on into the next season or something? if not....why cant the ref just give him the penalty enough til the end of a game

In 1965 the Dodgers won the world series but only hit 78 homeruns all year long during the regular season. Jim LeFebvre and Lou Johnson were the leaders on the team with 12 homeruns each. This is a two part question; 1- Has any team, since 1940, ever won the world series with less than 78 team homeruns? and 2- has any team won the world series, since 1940, with their team leader in homeruns finishing with less than 12?

Everyone's argument for Favre being MVP of the league this year is that he has done more with less. Does that sound familiar to any of us? That's because up until this year that's what Brady has been doing since the start of his career. So theoretically you believe that all those years that Peyton Manning won MVP for his amazing stats that it should of actually of been Tom Brady as MVP because of the fact that he did more with less and still put up great stats... just not record setting ones. Especially since Brady won the superbowl in some of those years... where as Peyton did not. Correct?

I know 1st playoff game for the san diego chargers will be held at home on jan5- or 6 2008. But I was wondering if the AFC championship game will be held at san diego .... If there is a possibility. Because if there is I will just wait and purchase those tickets instead of the 1st playoff game.

i saw this video on youtube a while back where these guys are catching some rather large fish which burrow into muddy creekbeds. what was most impressive about this is they weren't using any gear at all. what they'd do is drive their arm into the holes where the fish were and just wait. eventually the fish, i guess, thought the arm was a smaller fish and would try to eat it. that's when you pull your arm out of the water, bringing with it the big fish. anybody know what the term for this is called? did anyone see the video or a similar video by chance? if you can, please provide a link to it.

Cricket is one of the world's major sports with a huge fan base. However i must question the direction of this game, its always been a sport of "Country Club Status". Only the elite nations play on yearly basis against each other.

1) South Africa
2) Bangladesh
3) England
4) India
5) Australia
6) West Indies
7) New Zealand
8) Sri Lanka
9) Pakistan
10) Zimbabwe

10 teams in "World Cricket" is insufficient for a game to grow globably in terms of advertising revenue and overall interest in the sport. Other nations play at an associate level (Bermuda, Netherlands, Canada, Scotland, Kenya and Ireland being at the top of that crop). But is that enough? Plenty other nations such as Italy, Uganda, Namibia, UAE and many others are training players and traveling the world for competition, but what young sprotsmen wants to play a sport where he may never face the best in the world such as the case is in cricket? Should more teams be granted top status to compete with the "Big 10"?

I weigh about 225 and just started walking/jogging/running about 15-20 miles a week. I usually buy $15-20 Walmart sneakers and I am unhappy with them...I bought a pair of "walmart" shox and they broke within a few weeks.....I am interested in Nike Shox, but I am not sure if they can last....I am most concerned about rebound and sneakers that make running feel good. I am heavy and I run on pavement. Any suggestions, Price is no factor.
