Sports - 9 August 2007

I just turned 13 and I love basketball. I can do tricks ending in lay ups or close range shots but in the YMCA gym.. I can barely get in a freethrow by jumping.. I hate that.. Is there anyway I can get better at shooting a basketball because I have good form and position but still.. I have to resort into bad form in a game so I could get in a good 2 pointer which I would probably miss. Is there any way, if so, please define and I was wondering, do weights stunt your growth?

Think of it, if nobody answers a trolls questions and just skips over them to answer a real question the board will be more civalized and the "trolls" may possibly leave anyways, Just pretend the troll's topic is an old topic or a closed topic, For many members under level 5 you have a limit for answering questions so if you insist of wasting an answer on a trolls question to encourage them how about you take a break from the NASCAR section and help people in other sections that way you get your 2 points and you know you tried to help someone, plus set a good excample for the NASCAR section

I train in kickboxing and jujitsu and fight MMA....I always have bruises all over the place. I have a lot of weddings and other occasions where I need to wear a dress...does anyone have any suggestions for how to get rid of them faster?? I'm tired of the looks I get...I'm pretty sure people think I get beat up at home. It's not that attractive, either. Help!

If i want to upgrade my fork on a mountain bike, i would have to know the measure. ometimes i hear 5", or 6", but what is that? is that the whole fork or is that just the part that comes out of the tube. Sometimes its silver metal, coil or covered with rubber with a spring look to it. I mean a fork with suspension, not like a roadbike fork, a freeride mountain bike/dirt jumper fork.

The team I dislike the most are the Spurs. To me its like a chore to watch a Spurs game, sure Tony and Manu are somewhat exciting, but its alltogether puts me to sleep. Also I hate it when Spurs fans say, " If you don't like to watch the Spurs play you don't know the fundamentals of basketball". Thats stupid because everyone already knows the fundamentals of basketball, which is why we want to see more in the NBA.

The team I like the most is the Clippers, they may be a losing franchise, but I have high hopes for them. I've loved them since for about 6 years now, since the Darius Miles and Lamar Odom days. Also I love some of the Clippers fans out there, they stuck with their team through all this losing, and its amazing to see a true fan like that.

1) If you've gone/go to games, did/do you bring a sign? What does it say? If you yare/were going to a game, would you bring a sign? What would it say?
2) Favorite stuff to eat/drink at hockey games?

1) Gone to games. Not a sign bringer. If I brought one, I'd probably draw a MAFers (Fleury) in some kind of wicked puck-saving pose. Lol.
2) Lemonade at the Igloo, oh my God. Their nachos are okay.
3) Finally built-up some faith in Jocelyn Thibault last season, then he signs with the Buffaslugs. Douche. Actually, I remember watching a game mid-to-late season over a friend's when the Pens went to a shootout and they showed T-Bo's shootout save %, which was ZERO. We both screamed in dismay at the same time.
4) Jarkko Ruutu & Sean Avery and Laraque & Chara. Chris Neil & Avery.

IMO,

1. Why are the Montreal Canadiens called the Habs? (asked at least 10 times every week..soooo annoying!!!)

2. Who is the hottest NHL player? (Girls...pleeeeeease stop asking this..the answer is easy... Mike Ricci)

3. Who will win the Stanley Cup? (OK, this question is not as bad as the last two, but not when it gets asked

a)1-3 days after the LAST Stanley Cup ended
b) When there are about 200 unsigned UFA's and RFA's still out there
c) When not even a single hockey game has been played yet (why not ask who will make the playoffs...that's a big enough crapshoot, seeing how both the finalists from '06 missed last year)

I'm sure there are more annoying questions out there. Feel free to vent your frustration here, folks.
