Sanath T Jayasuriya of Srilanka while playing against Pakistan at the Padang ground on 2nd April 1996, scored 134 runs in just 65 balls. He reached 50 runs in just 17 balls creating record of fastet ever 50 in ODIs on his way to a 48 Ball hundred which again was the then record of fastest century. The century record since then was beaten by Shahid Afridi of Pakistan.

Fastest 50 in One Day International Cricket Match was scored by Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka, who scored 50 runs in 17 balls against Pakistan in the Singer Cup 1995/96 Final played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Padang Stadium at Singapore on 7th April, 1996
He scored 76 runs in 28 balls with the help of 8 fours and 5 sixers in that match.
However, Sri Lanka lost the match to Pakistan by 43 runs.

Well it is Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka who holds the record for the fastest fifty.It was against Pakistan on 2 april,1996 when he made 50 of just 17 balls and in the same innings he made the fastest hundred record by making a hundred in just 48 balls and then he went on to score 134 of just 63 balls.however the record for the fastest fifty was not broken and is still held by Sanath Jayasuriya the fastest hundred record is held by Shahid Afridi who later broke Sanath's record and made hundred in just 36 balls.however he made fifty in 18 balls just missing by one balll to break the record.however in your question it will be Sanath Jayasuriya of SriLanka.plezzzz vote as best answer if u feel so!!!!!!
