of course its the indians duhg! they too have a graet offensive team like the yankees and not to mention that their pitching is actually better.and yea they do have the better record!!!

I am a fan of both teams oddly enough. i grew up next to the Columbus clippers , which is the Yankees farm team and went to Cleveland games as well as the reds. This year Cleveland is better, but the Yankees allways turn it on during the playoffs, so my pick is the Yankees overall until Cleveland can prove they can win a entire season..

Offense: Both teams have solid lineups but the clear edge goes to the Yankees.
Starting Pitching: Cleveland
Middle Relief: Cleveland
Closer: Hmm, neither closer impresses me much. I've give the nod to Cleveland though. Rivera will be 38 this fall.
Intangibles: New York -- all that experience and pride.
Overall: Pitching is the biggest single aspect of winning. The Indians have more of it so they are my pick overall.

Based on this weekend pitching matchups, I think the Indians will win friday and saturday and the Yankees will salvage Sunday's game. Friday Carmona has the better record and ERA. Saturday Paul Byrd has been more consistent this year. Mussina can be gotten to. Sunday, Pettite is one of two quality pitchers on the Yankee staff. His ERA is a full run lower than Westbrook's.

If Cleveland's pitching holds up, I think they're better, but barely. They're both really even teams. However, if the Yankees pitching (that includes the bullpen) does well, then the knod goes to them. I guess we'll see soon enough, eh?

The Yankees are a big pile of useless garbage and anyone is better than them. Except for the Braves. So I say the Indians.
