Sunday's Spaghetti feed/Christmas party, and I can't seem to find the church hymnal. Any ideas you have for music would be appreciated. While music must be directed toward the Noodly One, it does not need to have a Christmas theme. As we partake of the bread and the wine etc we do like to hear a joyful noise over the slurping, so try to include happy hymns among the more deeply saucological.

I don't know, for example: has anybody seen him eat a Twinkie? Does he eat circus peanuts (you know, the orange squishy kind)? Scrapple egg and cheese sandwiches? Hungry Man TV dinners? Souse loaf?

See? Science is trying to make the bible even smaller. Can't they make it even smaller, so that no one will ever be able to read it?

If your a Christian, do you consider Tattoos a sin? Also, if you do, do you "point" out this "sin" to the person? This question is based on another post the other day who disagreed with my stance.. Lev 19:28 says "do not put tattoos on your body" But Lev 19:20-27 also say that you shouldnt cut your hair or trim your beard so are those sins too, right?
id like to hear your thoughts.

I am Buddhist and as part of my practise at home I light incense sticks. At the moment I am using some ones I got free from a Buddhist website I ordered two malas from. However, when I light them all I can smell is smoke. The same goes for any other incense sticks I use. I have tried using only matches, blowing them out after lighting them, etc but I can only smell smoke, non of the Jasmine, Patchouli, etc. Would incense cones be better! Please help!

ok so i've come to an understanding that memebers of the lds read an extended version of the bible, it's the same book, but feel that the "other" bible was incomplete.

so do you belive that you have to follow ALL of the bibical texts to go to heaven, or is do you believe that it's all about the relationship with God?

Can you believe in a fact, or can a fact only be known? If you do not fully understand a fact, do you have to believe it to be true until you know it to be true?

I have been a member of the chrch my entire life and have lived in Utah for most of it. One thing I noticed is that only in Utah is it that girls that are over 25 and not married are looked down on. In utah you are suppose to be married by 18 or 19 i guess. Why is this? I think it is very wrong to have people think this way. I am going to be divorced soon and will be back in the dating markent and I am 26. When i loved in NY being unmarried at 26 or older was common. Why is it that way in Utah? Please no rude coments about The LDS religion.

I talk about not putting Jesus on the cross and learning to walk holy before God and righteous enough to not need a sacrafice to get into heaven.

they write back and say only Jesus can defeat the devil, Lucifer is the mighty one, we are his slave's. No mortal man can defeat the mighty devil. Praise lucifers name, he is so strong. He is god over us Christians, and we need someone we love to die for us, to make it into heaven. He is so evil, so wicked. SO POWERFUL. I must sin, and give Jesus his duty. We are weak feeble creatures, oh how Lucifer is mighty over us. We will walk always in sin, but the one who is mighter then this mighty being will save us....CRUSIFY HIM, CRUSIFY HIM...as the christans shout, saying he will rise in 3 days anyway like he said....and he lives oh how our love has saved us, to nail himself on the cross for our sins. OH MIGHTY LUCIFER FOR I AM always a slave of yours as the Christians shout.

Okay, so I haven't had access to my CD collection in years. I was browsing through YouTube listening to songs I hadn't heard in a long time and came across this one and it got me thinking...

"Creeping Death"

1) What biblical story is this song based on?

2) Did you realize it was based on a biblical story the first time you heard it?

3) Were you already familiar with this song and its biblical connection before I posted this question?

4) I'm curious to see the type of R&S fan-base Metallica has... if you feel comfortable with it, please state whether you are (or are not) a fan of Metallica and whether you are a Non-Christian or a Christian.

If I think about God, and the thought is in my mind, then the thought of God exists in my mind. If I see a stranger helping another stranger, and attribute this act of compassion to God, then, I have just seen God, and therefore God exists in this action. If I find a 20 dollar bill on a day when I REALLY needed it, then I can say that this fortuitous occurrence was a result of God’s grace. Therefore, God exists in this random fortunate event.

For those who believe in God could not and will not be convinced that God doesn’t exist in their mind, or in the kindness of others, or in a lucky situation. They can attribute everything to God, and no logical argument, no rational reason will deter them from believing. Certainly no Dawkin’s or Hitchen’s book will keep them from KNOWING in their minds that God exists. Are they deluded? Only those who attribute thought to the mind, kindness to the kind and luck to the lucky. Only those who don’t believe in God would call them deluded.
