1) It's based on the the killing of the first born in Egypt.
2) I've always known this, but I can't specifically remember if I made the connection the first time I heard the song. It's been out for quite a while
3) yes
4) Used to be a Metallica fan until they became Metalligreed. My name was one of 5,000 listed on the original Napster lawsuit. Still love the old stuff. I am a born again atheist.

1) I think it is based on the story of Moses since he says "let my people go" and "I was sent by the chosen one" a lot. I think this was went Moses was rebelling against the Pharaoh so he can get his people free. Probably when Moses learned that the plagues were about to attack all who had no lamb's blood on their door.
2) This was actually the first time I've heard it, lol, but I do think if I had heard it before, it would have given itself away since he makes so many comments on that story.
3) I had no idea this song was in existence. I am a terrible Metallica fan for not havin' known of this song! *cries*
4) I looooove Metallica. They rest on the top of my "Favorite Metal Bands" list beside Ozzy and Trivium. Yeah, i do like modern metal too, but that's a different list, haha. I am a Christian, and I love metal, especially Metallica. I like most genres of music. I would actually like to be a metal singer when I grow-up. That would be so awesome!

I am a metal meathead and a Christian.
It has to do with the 10 plagues upon Egypt, most specifically the last one.
I was unfamiliar at first to the song's meaning, but after reading the tab for hours and the lyrics, I got the clue.
I am a Christian who listens to most types of metal. I find the musicianship fascinating ... and some of the lyrical topics funny and/or disturbing.

2.) Yes. The lyrics leave little room for misinterpretation.
3.) Yes.
4.) I was a fan of the band until they became Metalliposer, somewhere around the release of 'Load'. I'm an atheist.

It's about one or all of the Exodus plagues, right?
I didn't listen to it...I already knew this. I don't know how--I'm a fount of useless information, I guess.
I'm not a huge fan-ah of Metallica-ah, although I do-ah like heavy metal-ah music-ah. (The Metallica guy has to say "ah" at the end of most words and phrases, and it bugs me.)

I never bothered with heavy metal. Who can really tell what they are yelling anyway?
But reading the lyrics
http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/Creeping-Death-lyrics-Metallica/A5B31BC1F5D5D43E4825688D00331D9E
it is pretty obvious.
I never understood why all those lambs had to die. Can all-knowing god not recognise his own followers? Why blood? why not just put up a sign in Hebrew?
Oh well, it is not too good an idea to try to analyze mythology.

The plagues of Egypt.
Metallica was great in the 80's and the early 90's. It's so sad they became crap.
