If your a Christian, do you consider Tattoos a sin? Also, if you do, do you "point" out this "sin" to the person? This question is based on another post the other day who disagreed with my stance.. Lev 19:28 says "do not put tattoos on your body" But Lev 19:20-27 also say that you shouldnt cut your hair or trim your beard so are those sins too, right?
id like to hear your thoughts.

HASSE: what if the Tattoo says Christ Saves? or what if it Is a witness of Christ?
Certainly it depends on WHAT the tattoo is of.

Also, a thought... you may say are bodys are a temple of the Spirit, which i agree, but how many of you are overweight? I m a trainer, and i know more Christains that overeat and are not healthy, so we might as well include that, right?

1.No they are not a sin
2.Those that you mentioned are OT laws that pertain to the people of that time. Those in Christ are not under the law.So again it's not a sin
The law kills
Christ saves!:-)

in case you relate each and every little thing decrease back to being a Sin then no longer something is risk-free! in case you like one and function positioned the time, theory and study into it decide for it. i'm Christian and function 2 tattoos, they do no longer make me a undesirable guy or woman regardless of in case you seem up top the place the Bible says to no longer mark your physique. It does say that yet come on, situations have replaced and this is risk-free now. Your physique can nevertheless be a temple, purely with fairly artwork on the exterior. -very solid factor approximately tattooing and piercing being historical practices. The Bible all of us be attentive to isn't the quite translation from the Hebrew version so fairly some innovations are misunderstood because of the anglosaxon wording.

While such decorations as piercings or tattoos may be popular among some people, a Christian needs to ask himself or herself, ‘What kind of a reaction would such a decoration provoke in the area where I live? Would I be associated with certain fringe elements of society? Even if my conscience were to allow it, what effect would my piercing or tattoo have on others within the congregation? Would they view it as an evidence of “the spirit of the world”? Might it cast doubt on my “soundness of mind”?’—

A ) I'm not a "christian" I am a believer. B) I think the prohibition against cutting hair had to do with the way the heathen did it......(I hope) C) It (tattooing) is certainly self centered, rather than centered on the Messiah. I would advise against it.

as a christian all my life I can say we were taught that tatoos were bad because it marks your body and there fore a way to identify you, also because our bodies are temples of God and they belong to him, i guess just go by what you believe to be sacred to your beliefs, cuz we as humans do so much to our bodies and it's really hard to go by the Bible word for word and try to interpet it into our daily lives, take for instance, piercings? what about sterilization in both sexes- tubal ligations and vasectomies? and what about sex changes? Bottom line we are all sinners- yes, ALL of us! Thank goodness our Lord is a forgiving God!

The only rule I know about in tattoos is if you are Jewish you cannot be buried in a Jewish cemetery if you are tattooed. This practice was suspended only for the Holocaust survivors, because the Nazi's tattooed them without permission.

Well, *I* certainly believe that SOME tattoos really should be a sin..or a crime...or both.
I mean, seriously, have you SEEN some of the "tramp stamps" out there?
