It sure seems the only "freedom" of speech is when you agree 100% with a certain group of people.

And, please, make sure you DON'T say anything about all the stuff in the news or say that you think a certain belief system is primitive, barbaric or uncivilized.

Oh, and make NO effort to show the obvious contradiction between what "they" SAY and what "they" DO. THAT is a huge "no no".

Other than that, feel free to express your opinion.

I think that is a major problem with a misconception of free speech. The Constitution protects from government regulation of the content of speech. Content and the expression itself are two different things. People seem to believe in some cases that they can stop anyone from speaking a content with which they don't agree. The point of free speech is just that though, some people will disagree with your content, some people will hate you for what you say, but your right to say it is the most important thing.

And here, unfortunately, people have the freedom to edit what they want to hear and what they don't. I respect you for responding honestly to people, and I guess I can say is all you can do is know that their honest response was deletion and try to consider yourself the better person for your efforts. The sad thing is with every question, you get about 1/3rd of the answers that are insulting, which makes it hard for this forum to have any real legitimacy. And some people ask questions just to get the answer they want. But keep up what you are doing, because these points don't matter and once in awhile, you will find an intriguing question or answer that will inspire your thinking.

Hey, this is yahoo, or bubblegum for infantile minds.
I don't mean to sound insulting, but if you really have an important question I wouldn't rely on yahoo.
There is only freedom of speech: there is no guarantee anyone will listen, much less give any credence to what you say.
Have some fun. If someone did not like your answer, there was a reason. You touched a NERVE! Maybe even got close to the truth. Or offended a simpleton who actually cares about what some totally hidden behind computer screen wizard of oz said.

I agree, I have answered many questions that have been deleted because someone was Offended, Well..so what ?
You can't stand the heat then I will tell them to stay out of the Kitchen. because I will still answer, and everytime someone reports my answer I appeal it and have it re-instated.

I want the right to say what i want , when I want to anyone I want in any way known to man that I want with complete immunity from the law, that is the freedom I want, If people don't like it , then tuff, do something about it.
The only way i will be stopped is for someone to kill me.

We are the invited guest of Yahoo Answers and I don't believe it is so much as eliminating "freedom of speech" but someone not liking your answer hits the "report it" button.

i certainly wouldn't say yahoo answers is the end all be all of the freedom of speech. you're still allowed to voice your opinion. and you can do it as often as you like. i wouldn't worry about trolls and what not. they've only proven that they have no better argument than to remove yours. consider it a victory.

edit: the question didn't reveal anything about the asker's religious beliefs, and my response didn't reveal anything about mine. yet someone still managed to read this response decide there was something wrong with it. go figure...

I think your understanding of the law has gone down the drain. "Freedom of speech" does not apply to a venue like this. "Freedom of speech" applies to government interference in speech due to content. Your whining about this matter here only makes you look stupid.

Only mostly visibly in the realm of journalism, to me. Getting your message out on one of the many wide reaching news agencies is only possible if it's in their interest and the interest of their investors. I'm sure almost nothing is left untouched as to be totally free speech. We always have reservations.

A lot of questions I seen are looking for people's agreement, rather then different opinions. I see this a lot from Christians (especially the fundies), but to be fair, a few Atheists also do it.
