Scientists if we exist, why is there no physical proof? Pain? A tree feels no pain or does it? Plants don't feel pain, do they? A rock has never doubted it's existence has it? Philosophy has only proven the obvious "man can think".

Ironically a scientist can tell me how fast light travels, but can't change a flat tire. They are so intelligent, but can't prove this their own existence. Ever wonder why there are things you just can't explain? How about, there is no reality. We made it up. Along with logic; justice; religion; etc...

Atheists, you know all the things you own; all the things you crave; all the things you adore; their value is all in your head. People? Are a mere reflection of your actions. Hate and be hated. Love and be loved. However, real? Never. Everything amounts to nothing. Rich, poor, famous, enlightened, we're all walking the same path leading to the same destination. So go on value your kingdom of dirt and your so-called "loved" ones. They're imitating you.

About all creatures great and small. How come dinosaurs were never mentioned in the bible??
That's a bit unfair isn't it?

God is nasty I think.

Be it laws that only apply to the christian faith (gay marriage, drinking laws in some states etc). Or treated unfairly at work or school. Or even out right ridicule. While not all of these have affected me I have witnessed them all and would like to know how wide spread it is?

Ya know, little puzzles to solve, problems to figure out, acheivements to reach so we'll stay busy. Maybe science IS valid from a Christian standpoint after all. Perhapse it's Gods' way of keeping us occupied and encouraging us to use these brains he blessed us with. Yeah, I like that theory.

Or Goddess? Or whatever your concept of divinity may be?
Where do you find it?
(Not where should others find it, where do YOU find it?)

published statistics for percentages of atheists in countries which appear to be most represented in Y!A. Does anyone have any personal theories on why this is? It could be, for example, that atheists tend to be of higher intelligence than thos of faith, and peope of higher intelligence and therefore greater technical literacy are more likely to contribute to online debate. It could be isolated to Y!A, i.e. not reflected in other internet forums, IRC, etc. Or it could be that the quoted stats on belief are wrong. Anyone got any thoughts? (and sources might be nice...)

What if this never happened?
"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall, not prevail against it."
Matthew 16:18

So if you beleive there was an apostacy than one of the following must be true. (1) Jesus' words in the passages just cited were misreported; (2) Jesus did in fact say these things but didn't really mean them--at least not in the way they had been understood by Christians for the first eighteen centuries; (3) Jesus was a liar, or (4) Joseph Smith was wrong and Jesus meant what he said.

Matthew 24:4-12; Mark 13:21-23; Luke 21:7-8; Acts 20:29-30; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12; 2 Timothy 3:1-7, 4:1-4; 2 Peter 2:1-3; and Jude 17-19. Passages that say that "many" will fall away. This refers to apostacy in an individual sense. Not a complete apostacy of the entire Church.

Considering how different everybody is, with widely varying degrees of virtue, why just 2 destinations that are so extreme? Why just eternal bliss or eternal torture and not any middle ground?

Please note this question asks WHY it would be set up this way, not WHO would set this up . . thanks!

for example, I am a member of the Church of Christ, but I have friends who are Baptists, Catholic, and Pentecostal. Am I to participate in all the acts of worship as a guest or visitor even when the acts coincide with my teachings?

As you can tell I'm not just directing it to Christians but others as well. So what size, archeturial style, and interior design do you like best in a church? Like what really makes you feel you're in a church or place of worship?

us, too?

Jesus' death on the cross redeemed mankind because he was a sinless, blameless sacrifice lamb.

Since Catholics believe Mary was sinless, too, is Mary also a redeemer and Savior?
