It's been a long slow process and I really haven't had what I think of as a "burning bush" experience. I have had plenty of bursts of insight for which I have no explanation. The best I can do is relate an incident that occured some years ago. I grew up in a christian home but had some serious doubts about my faith. I didn't sleep for five days but during that time I spoke with clergy, read as much information as I could get my hands on, prayed a lot and meditated. After five days I dropped from exhaustion and when I woke I felt a sense of clarity about what was right for me. I had what I call a God-awareness - knowing that there's something greater than me.
I'm secure with my belief now so let the scoffing begin!

I was aethist ,agnostic Raised Catholic,Party person womanizer... .... at age of 38 moved to Maui after divorce went back to same life style I had before marriage party party party make fun of religous people used to freak some of them out, well a girl(very pretty) started working where I did I found out she was playing Bass guitar in praise band at a church(I thought hard about it but she was PRETTY!)I followed her into Church about 2 weeks after that. I heard the message for the first time, What I was lacking that there was a God that had sent his son to die on a cross for me,the songs touched my heart my mind about How much God loves us. I invited Jesus into my life that day I did not hear any whistles or bells or any significant change, however the next morning I woke up I was living in one of the most beutifull places on earth, but that morning was the first time I ever saw it! The emptyness of not knowing was gone! God made many changes in my life, people started coming to church because they saw the change in me! About a year into my life in Christ I decided to go down and have a drink at my old favorite watering spot(bar) I ordered my drink I got it and a voice I could hear(no one else!,I usually dont hear voices !!!) said in a powerfull tone YOU DONT BELONG HERE" I left the drink where it set I have not been close to a bar now for 14 years. God has blessed my life beyond my wildest imagination I have a great wife 3 kids and a loving savior that will never give up on anyone. Things go wrong I do bad things but he is and will always be there for you. Jesus Christ is his name call on it! ADD is the stuff around you from God or is it from men! Question what you believe Knock and the door will open!

I was in bed one night, and I had a lot to drink, in fact so much that I couldn't move or get up if I had to. Then, all of a sudden, I heard my name, then I heard it again, and I know because I was on the second floor and nobody was with me, that it was something weird happening. All of a sudden, WOW, these thoughts flooding my head, and *the knowledge of it all* raced through me, and it felt like, I can't even explain it. Then, the next day, I knew I had to stop drinking that much, because I couldn't remember one thing that flashed through my mind the night before.

If there is no God, then what made everything around you? And i'm not just talking about buildings and crud, those were made by man. I mean things like the universe, the cosmos, nature, pretty much everything natural.
I_Spearedyou - have you helped a friend today?

I've been aware of 'God' or whatever you want to call the underlying pattern of reality all my life.
Just different levels of awareness.
For example; We are aware that Earth exists within a solar system, and that our particular solar system is just one of countless billions of others that just so happen to work in exactly the same way.
If that ain't a pattern, i don't know what is.
I suppose you could say it's coincidence that something so vast could have an underlying process that all things within it adhere to.
Coincidence, Chance... It's all the same to me.
All i know is that you have to have a cause to have a effect.
Things don't just 'happen', right?
edit: lol @ the guys proving my point by giving negatives and positives.

I was playing in the sandbox when I was six years old. I had a shovel in one hand and a play bucket in the other, and I was building a castle. Then I looked up and saw God, flying through the sky, round and round, like a stunt plane. He looked like a kitty cat. My life forever changed, because I'll always know God is up there. "Meow!"

God changed my life in grade 8. My mother believed in God so much. Because I didn't she told me the Devil was working in me. As a result told me she would pray for me but that I wasn't welcome in her house until I accepted the Lord. It took 14 years for her to get out of that mindset. And another 4 for me to let her back in my life. This effected not only me but my children as well. Our relationship still isn't 100%. Probably never will be. Thank you Jesus.

I don't scoff. I look at you funny and wonder how many crazy stories you have to tell about being touched by god before the looney bin will let me commit you.

Even Mother Theresa didn't have a story about being personally touched by God. If she didn't, whose testimony is credible?

I feel very sorry for people who don't believe in Jesus. They have no clue what they are missing. I call it stupidity.
