So your saying that if a girl was raped by some random guy, that she has to have that child. Thats not right. That child would remind her everyday of that very sad day in her life. Why would she want that child?

no one really believes that abortion is alright .... being pro choice does not mean pro abortion
I honestly wish there were other options , but sometimes there arent
and this is why I am pro choice

when i was 7 my mother was in a terribly abusive relationship
she was beaten and raped in front of my sister and i
she looked after this mans 2 children also , one was handicapped
after the rape she planned to escape but this man kept watch over her like a prisoner
she found out she was pregnant and knew she had to do something
so one night she ran away with all 4 children while the man lay drunk
she had to take the mans children to their grans and just run off anywhere with my sister and i
we had no clothes, money or personal belongings
she went to her sisters who was the only family she had , but her sister also had children and no room for us all
so my mother left us there until she went to a shelter and eventually found an appartment for us
during this time she arranged for an abortion , as this man was looking for her and she was scared he would find out about the baby
so she did it
she nearly died doing it
and at 7 years old i was really the only person my mother had to help her through this
that was 30 years ago
to this day she mourns that baby , she knows that her life got better in the end and that the baby MAY have been safe
but this is only in hindsight and may not have been so if she had went ahead with having the baby
i love my mother very much and know how difficult this decision was for her
so despite the fact that i could not have an abortion ....
i would not judge anyone who has to make this decision as i know how heartbreaking it can be
sometimes people have very little options and must do what is right all round ..... even if it hurts them deeply

Pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion. And I don't see my life as a right, I see it as a privilege. If my 17 year old mother had decided to abort me, that would have been her choice, and know what? Since I wouldn't have existed, I wouldn't have cared. It was her choice to have me though. If it's a rape victim's choice to have the baby, that's her right. If she chooses to have it, that's just as valid. The point is it's a choice, and it should only be up to one person.

can you live in overpopulation? with diseases moving more rapidly though culture? maybe not able to get enough food? letting raped victums go though a birth from a person to young to have that pain? Do you have a scientifc reason that we should die so others wont go through this same pain?

If you don't approve of abortion, then DON'T HAVE ONE!

Clearly "God" has no problem with abortion, since about one in five pregnancies end in a "spontaneous termination". Are you suggesting "God" is wrong on this topic, too?

Why do people like you care so much about the unborn, but elect politicians who cut funding for poor children's health programs? I guess the kid's only sacred in the womb; once it's born, it's just another brat.

All you can come up with is emotional arguments that disguise the true reason why you are opposed to abortion. You are a religious zealot who wishes to exert the control of your particular doctrine over the populace. To use these emotional arguments without displaying the true reason you argue is being inherently dishonest and is why your ideology belongs in the middle ages.

because my mom CHOSE to have me. that's why. had she chosen differently, i wouldn't have known nor cared. the whole 'what if your mom aborted you' arguement is stupid and irrelevant.

With due respect to Pangel, I think abortion's perfectly OK, and has no more moral component than an appendectomy.

There is nothing wrong with abortion.
There is something wrong with war.
There is something wrong with brainwashing.
