ourselves ?The veil of the temple was rent in 2, leaving it open for all men to have access to the throne.

I can understand that Allah may be another name for God,just as Jehovah,Emamuel & other names w/different meanings. But having to go to a priests to get to God was done away with.We can go directly to God ourselves, through Jesus, the son of God for salvation.
The book of Acts says:"for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.", Why all the confussion ? Jesus is Jesus & available to all. This is Fact there is no other salvation.

wearing burkas they looked like Darth Vader, my 5 year old son was scared to death of them, what kind of religion makes people cover their whole body up it's rediculous, and what kind of person would do that? I am sure it is very hard for them to find a good job that doesn't require them to take off their garb

Are you perfect, and do you feel that it's okay to not be perfect all of the time?

How do you feel when a particular religion is criticized for not being perfect?

Are you willing to understand that even leaders of a religion can make mistakes, and it is often difficult to humble yourself to admit you made a mistake?

Did Jesus really speak against all traditions or was His statement about traditions condemning a specific source and kind. Certainly, He was speaking of the traditions of the Pharisees But how does that teaching apply to other traditions such as Sacred Traditions. Let us actually look at the Scriptures that apply to our discussion which are about Sacred Tradition.

St. Paul speaking of oral Tradition: (1Co 11:2 DRB) Now I praise you, brethren, that in all things you are mindful of me and keep my ordinances as I have delivered them to you.

This is St. Paul speaking about both oral and written Sacred Traditions. In his teaching notice he makes no distinction between the oral and the written Sacred Traditions. 2Th 2:15 DRB) (2:14) Therefore, brethren, stand fast: and hold the traditions, which you have learned, whether by word or by our epistle.

Here St. Paul is also speaking of both the written and the oral Traditions without distinction as to........

And what does it matter anyway since "eternity" means we're never going to get out? Why bother?

Why do people always try to convert me?
You have to understand that I really do appreciate the trying to save my soul and stuff, but lets put it this way. It is absolutely no business of theirs to try to push me into something. If I wanted to be whatever, I would change.
I am a Jew.
I am proud of that.
And no words about eternal damnation are going to change my mind.

I'm serious. I understand that someone is trying to save me, but it gets annoying. My friends have cried over how I'm going to go to Satan, and burn for eternity.

Everytime this happens, I feel so uncomfortable. I mean, here is a friend who is very dear to me, and she's talking about how I'm going to suffer for all of eternity? Is this supposed to make me want to change? If anything, these pleads make me even less likely to convert (not that that would ever happen anyways).

So, my question is, why? Why do people push me into changing?

Thank you for reading

have they ever even been in one? I come from a military family. Dad, father in laws, grandfathers, husband (disabled vet in war time), two brother in laws....I grew up with it and around it. And I can tell you, that foxholes make atheist far more then they make Christians. Why are people so convinced there are no atheist in foxholes? My husband said it only reinforced his atheism.

This Christmas one can buy a pre-packaged Christmas tree 10 feet tall with over a 1,000 lights on it for $300.

Is this considered to be blasphemy by God aka Mother Nature aka the God who created the whole universe including traditional, organic Christmas trees or is it viewed by God as a great and expected theological breakthrough?

We're not religious at all, yet every Sunday I set the table with the good China and a real cloth, gather the kids, and have an old fashioned 'sit down' family dinner. It's become a tradition, with fried chicken the usual dish.

What does your family serve?
Who gathers together at your table?
What role do your beliefs play?
