You are not going to have very much affect on a person who belongs to a religion that actually has trained it's members to actively preach.
Perhaps, you should live your life as a good example, and become more focused on your study of the Bible to learn how Jesus and his disciples set the standard for preaching.

First, I'd ask yourself why you feel the need to "witness" in the first place. I personally am Pagan and proud of it. I've researched many religions, read the Bible (over a dozen times actually), gnostic texts, the quran, etc. I've built my own faith based on my findings and personal spiritual journey.
Faith isn't something that you can convince another person to have. Neither is spirituality something that you can force upon another. Each must find their own way to the Divine.
I'd keep in mind what Jesus said about Seeing to your own house first and also about throwing stones. You're not perfect- no one is, that's why we're here... to learn and grow. (If you were perfect you'd not have had to ask and use poor spelling at that.)
Please let others find their own paths as you have found yours and just be happy you've found one that speaks to you.
Blessings to you.

The first thing you do is accord them the respect of spelling Mormon correctly. Further respect might be indicated by capitalizing the name of their religion. You may want to accord your own religion the same respect. (I understand the word born, but what does againg mean?)
The second thing you do about witnessing to a Latter Day Saint (LDS; Mormon) is don't. You may think you have something that they want, but they think they have something that you want, and I assure you, they are a lot better trained to proselytize than you are.

Tell him that that there will be many false prophets and false Christs, not just Joseph Smith but including him. There was no "Angel Moroni" who magically revealed the mysterious tablets to Mr. Smith so that he could bring the true kingdom of God upon the earth. Joseph Smith was a showman who started a carnival which evolved into a false religion.

Why not first study on the religion, then you will have an idea what they believe. If you think you can show them they are wrong on something, show them. You need to be educated first.

It wont work.
Why would us mormons drop a God that believes all good people will be judged fairly and that no loving God would send a good person to hell to accept a God that condemns good people, like mormons, to an eternity of hell and damnation? What kind of trade would that be?
Any religion that believes in a God that would send good people to hell for not completely understanding the gospel plan on earth is not a religion I want a part of.
But you can try, lol, good luck
