When there's a character named "God" in it?
If it were pushing atheism, you'd think they'd all go looking for God and not find him.

My son is on a working holiday in Banff ~ freezing his t.i.t.s
off~!
I received a parking fine in the mail for $180.. his car runs out of rego next week and it will cost $1100 to make road worthy, register and insure... and some kid just walked by and offered me $500 for it. It's not worth $50.. someone gave it to me cause they were going overseas and my son won't be back until March... and hasnt offered to contribute any money towards registering it or paying the fine he accrued.

So... do you think he will miss his car when he returns? *grins* I've got $500 cash in my pocket!

I am interested in hearing why some people need their religious beliefs more than others. Is religion merely the opiate for the masses, such as Marx said? Why, eventhough countlessly debunked by science, do so many people still cling to their accestral beliefs?

I think that The Golden Compass is very disrespectful, no matter what religon you are, you just don't go around slandering others' religons, you know? Not just Christians/Catholics, I just don't think a girl in a search to kill God is respectful or good for any child of any religon to watch. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

Me and my boyfriend were standing by the mall water fountain and an atheist mall employee came up to us with an attitude and told us "could you two move away from the fountain, its not a lounge area its a decoration for the mall. Cant you see that theres a bench over there if you want to sit somewhere" and then i said "we were just looking at it, cant we look at it?" and then he rolled his eyes and said "look, you can look at the fountain nice and clear from that bench over their" and then i told my boyfriend "lets not try and start any drama here, lets just go". Do you think that was rude of him?

How can you possibly admire a God who allows such a place to exist. I mean mankind can be a tad sadistic from time to time, but the descriptions of Hell are so awful, how can a diety that allows it to exist be considered at all meritorious?

He did exisit. he was based on a real person. Isn't it much easier to explain that to a child rather than saying Santa Clause never exisited. Isn't that a lie?

When humans are gone, the world will carry on. Another species will rise to the top of the food chain. Humans are a temporary, but acute disease to the world, rather than the reason for it's existence. Your thoughts?

One must be very careful in pronouncing that practices are “man-made” without a careful study of the Church in the first few centuries. Since the Church is the Church established by Christ with himself as the cornerstone and the disciples as the 12 foundation stones the Church and practices were established and the teaching passed on from disciple to disciple through apostolic succession. Therefore, one cannot say that because the Bible does not state specifically the practices that they were not established by the disciples. After all, the Scriptures are not a guidebook for Christian practice but a guidebook for faith. The Church referred to the authority of .......

Hi:
I have heard that while on mission Mormons are to stay away from bodies of water. Could a Mormon please explain in detail why this is? Something about evil? This is an honest question seeking a true and complete answer.
Thank you, in advance, for the info...

This statement is found in the Bible, and even if you don't except the Bible as being inspried by a Higher Intelligence, their is much wisdom to be found there, I think.
By the way Buddha, also refers to this state to be necessary for enlightenment.

When they were telling me the story of the watch, and how the hell did that watch come into existence; and they were telling me how abysmal is the logic of athiests, and all that -- suddenly I had it all figured out.

But then I forgot what it was I had figured out. So now I come to Yahoo-Answers, and I know you people can figure it out.

So did God actually create himself?
And suddenly we was existing? And he was looking around, and he exclaimed "What the -- ?"?

Is that how it happened? Praise Jesus !
