Me and my boyfriend were standing by the mall water fountain and an atheist mall employee came up to us with an attitude and told us "could you two move away from the fountain, its not a lounge area its a decoration for the mall. Cant you see that theres a bench over there if you want to sit somewhere" and then i said "we were just looking at it, cant we look at it?" and then he rolled his eyes and said "look, you can look at the fountain nice and clear from that bench over their" and then i told my boyfriend "lets not try and start any drama here, lets just go". Do you think that was rude of him?

Yes, that atheist son of a ***** was Definitely being rude. Obviously sitting at a bench 5000 miles away will not be as good a view as standing next to it. That guy is just being a retarded jerk.

How did you know he was an atheist my dear?

I think you were rude, cluttering up a nice fountain with kids standing near it. And talking back to the mall employee! I'll tell the priest on you!

So really what were you guys doing to attract his attention in the first place?
Baptizing?
Preaching?
Skinny dipping?
What?
So many folks in a mall, what is so unusual about looking at a fountain.??
How did you determine he was an atheist anyway????
Did he say "I don't believe so you need to move." ?????

Yep .. he was pretty rude.

It's always wise to just exit this type of people -- and make a better example than what he set.

You did the right thing .. but I have to wonder what authority he had over the fountain? ... hmmmm ... the fountain is there for people in the mall to enjoy.

The guy was not only rude .. but he cannot tell you where to stand, or sit. Maybe he was having a bad day.

I knew it!
I knew that all those mall guys were atheists.
Now I have independent confirmation of it from you.
Atheists are known by their grumpiness and their lack of appreciation of beauty. He couldn't conceive of why you wanted to look at the water fountain, unless you were planning to steal it.
I suspect that many police are also atheists because they give me tickets, orders, and warnings.

The guy's request was reasonable, but I gather his tone of voice was nasty. Maybe he was having a bad day. But heck, in the spirit of the season, maybe you should cut him a little slack.

Looking at your questions, I see that you are uncommonly curious about atheism. Perhaps you are considering becoming an atheist too? Similarly, your boyfriend is clearly drawn to homosexuality. Bravo to both of you, for your spirit of adventure and willingness to change!

Hmmmm .... where is the gay part.

Anyway, how do you know that employee is an atheist? Did he carry an name tag which states that he is an atheist?

Oh, if there is no sign that states "No standing near the fountain" you can definitely defend your rights.

What does this have to do with him being an atheist? Besides the sound of it he was probably following the mall policy. Sounds like a weird mall to me :P

Why Francine. It's simply amazing how you find all these atheists, who never even tell you that they are one. That's truly a god given gift you have there. But he wasn't being rude, he was doing his job.

Anyone can be rude, honestly I try not to be rude. But I know that I can be. It does not matter what your beliefs are, you can still loose it.
I'm not sure how you knew this person was an atheist.
It was extremely rude, and uncalled for.
Its important to forgive, and not let these things get to us.
God Bless
