My son is on a working holiday in Banff ~ freezing his t.i.t.s
off~!
I received a parking fine in the mail for $180.. his car runs out of rego next week and it will cost $1100 to make road worthy, register and insure... and some kid just walked by and offered me $500 for it. It's not worth $50.. someone gave it to me cause they were going overseas and my son won't be back until March... and hasnt offered to contribute any money towards registering it or paying the fine he accrued.

So... do you think he will miss his car when he returns? *grins* I've got $500 cash in my pocket!

Tell him someone stole your car son, then give him 200 advance for a new car if he promises to start paying his bills, he will think you are the best dad in the world.

If a man/woman knows something is wrong, but does it anyway, that is sin.

If a man/woman knows it's right to do something, but doesn't do it, that is also sin.

If it is justified that you sell the car, and he is the rightful owner, then you should give him the $500 (less the $180 for the fine).

Yes, you can sell it, but, I would pay the fines and fees first to keep your costs down. The faster you pay the impound fees (after the 30 days) the lower your fees will be. The buyer of the vehicle may want to test drive it, and if it is still in the impound yard, they won't be able to The impound yard would only put your car to auction, if you didn't pay the impound fees promptly.

No greater sin is there than this. You are indeed fortunate that it isn't covered in the Zend-Avesta,the Tanahk,or the Bhagavid Gita. So you are acquited on a mere technicality. But just barely. Let this be a warning.

How can it be a sin? what you are doing is called a good deed. It is only a sin if you waste the money on sinful things. Ay and buy something for your son with this money, afterall it is his own car.

What a pickle your in! A sin is either mortal or venial, however in your case the circumstances would intecate you can by God's law sell the car, if you can do this legally by state law. It would be best to ask him though, to avoid further disharmony.

If it isn't your property you don't have the legal right to sell it anyway. If it's yours, do what you like. But you'll have a son home soon with no transportation, and you'll have to do something about that when the time comes.

Thanks for showing the Christmas spirit...

Why don't you use part of it to pay the fine, and then give your son the money when he gets home. That would help him right?

TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN BOY!\

o - and don't let him get off with not paying the fine either!

ps... Parental enjoyment of watching our sons squirm over their fines and insurance payments is NOT a sin......
