We are told by the Bible that Jesus appeared to hundreds of people. We therefore know that it is OK for Jesus to appear to people -- it does not take away their free will, for example.
We are told that it would be easy for Jesus to appear to everyone, since Jesus is all-powerful and timeless. We know that, if Jesus did reappear to everyone, it would be incredibly helpful. We could all know, personally, that Jesus is resurrected and that Jesus is God. If Paul (and all the other people in the Bible) needed a personal visit to know that Jesus was resurrected, then why not you and me?

Yet, we all know that Jesus has not appeared to anyone in 2,000 years.

Why do you suppose that is?

- through the streets of London protesting about the treatment of this poor teacher JUST as thousands of Muslims marched, screamed and burned British flags when Rushdie was knighted?

Where are all the protests from the peace-loving members of Islam? This is a genuine question: where are they???

If you drove your car off the road into a ditch in the middle of winter... and faced the prospect of remaining there overnight ... and had two books in your car. A first-aid manual and a Bible.

Which would you keep to read and which would you use as kindling to stay alive and warm?

you can say thats it's all about family,BUT deep down inside you KNOW what it represents. and you can also say it's about santa and not Christ. I will admit, people have tried for many years to commercialize Christmas, BUT the fact still remains, it's the celebration of our lord. so why do you do it? to fit in maybe? Affraid of being looked down upon?
I am not saying you are not able to love and respect others feelings and religions. I am just wondering. This is a religous holiday. shouldn't you be proud, comfortable, and secure enough in your ATHIEIST veiws NOT to take advantage of a Christian holiday? and admit, it to your work, that you would work on that day because of your ATHIST veiws. This qustion also pertains to Easter. The day we Christians celebrate our lord, who rose from the dead. I'm not bashing anyone here. And I don't expect to be told to Drink. In My opinion those who say that, can't come up with any answer worth reading. thanks for the answers!

"Nothing in Christianity is original. The pre-Christian God Mithras - called the Son of God and the Light of the World - was born on December 25, died, was buried in a rock tomb, and then resurrected in three days. By the way, December 25 is also the birthday or Osiris, Adonis, and Dionysus. The newborn Krishna was presented with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Even Christianity's weekly holy day was stolen from the pagans."

...because you were out numbered in a situation? I was at a Pampered Chef party last night and everyone there was Christian except me. I was talking about taking my daughter and her friends to go see "The Golden Compass" and they all freaked out. They started telling me how they are trying to kill God in the movie and how I shouldn't take her. I don't agree with what they were saying as I am an Atheist and it is a fictional movie made for the soul purpose of entertainment. However, being out numbered, I felt I couldn't speak up. Has anyone else been in this kind of situation and if so what did you do? I kind of wished I would have said something, but I didn't really want to make it a big deal and have the Christians in our small town hunt me down. What say you?

Why does the author of the Bible, who is supposed to be God, who is supposed to be all-knowing, know so little? Why is the knowledge of the author limited to the knowledge of the primitive men who wrote the book?

The question say it all.
I will be really glad to know the answer with evidence either from qur'an, sunnah or the great scholars from the time of the prophets.
And if the answer is 'yes', why Jesus? And if it possible, I want to know about the death of Jesus.

If you are from among one of the Christain Faiths, do you have "faith" in the observane of Easter and Christmas, or Mass? Does it matter to you that these observances come from Pope and Catholic church? If you don't believe then why do believe in so many of the doctrines this early church established? If you do believe why don't you fully submit to her complete authority?

1) That most souls go to Purgatory, a few to hell, and a few straight to Heaven.
2) That the souls in Hell even then in their suffering choose to curse God and ignore Him.
Seems to be it is still their choice. Not God's choosing. What are your thoughts?

If our government ever invoked Marshall Law and all our rights and such were stripped away some of us would become fugitives for various reasons. I don't think I could count on any Atheist who would take me into their home and help me since their own self interest may be in jeopardy--However Christians stick together and would help each other. What do you think about this scenario? Can Ateists ever band together is it possible?

Christians, If when You and I pray to the lord almighty, as I understand, sometimes your prayers become true, sometimes they will not come true(Never), and sometimes the G.O.D man makes you wait a long time before it becomes true. Think about this, with these Statistics couldn't I just pray to, lets say..... my Playstation 3 and get the same results??

I would think that the smallest sin after I accept Christ, would be grounds for casting me into hell, because every time I sin, I'm basically "opting out" of my salvation, especially if I don't repent until later. So unless every sin is accounted for in repentance, is salvation an on and off thing throughout my life?
