I found a quote from Thomas Jefferson that I really liked and agreed with.

"Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear. "

So I looked up more quotes by TJ and found this one to be interesting.

"I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature. "

What was he refering to with "orthodox christianity"?

Because we've only gone on full blown wars with two of them thus far....they are allowing a woman to live (while protesting that she should die) is killing tens of thousands of them enough to show them protesting one should die is wrong? is that REALLY enough? i mean, wouldn't you all rather spend another 1.5 trillion and attack iran and sudan too? that will show them how much more peaceful our religion is that theres!

Is all the Muslim over reaction a result of things that women have done? I know that women are held in low regard in the Muslim world, so I'm curious if this is a factor in the sentences of jail and lashes.

Yeah, so what if a man was gang raped - who would get the lashes? The rapist or the guy for allowing it?

If a man was a teacher and named the teddy bear Muhammed, would he be punished at all? Would he have even been reported...Considering how much smarter Muslim men are than Muslim women, he should know what he's doing, right??

To the nice people whom answered my question by stating that their mother would not have gone to sudan.

Is it your selfishness or your lack of compassion for another human being that has blinded you?

I admit to have laughed at one of the questions.
But in retrospect, I deeply regret it!

The plant I work at is closing down next week. There is NOTHING to do. My boyfriend works in the layout dept. and HIS whole department got this whole week (and probably all next week) off with pay. For some unknown reason, my department (customer service) has to show up and help pack. Should I feel guilty for sitting on my butt and browsing R&S instead of making myself useful? Is this much of a moral dilemma?

True there are many attacks being made in R&S, but do you ever think your defenses get in the way of a possible connection to someone who you have falsely perceived as an attacker? Do you ever check your own baggage to see why you are being triggered and try to find some common ground with others? Or do you assume that everyone that triggers you is out to get you?

The Muslims' deity is Allah, but Muhammad appears to get just as much respect. It is called heresy to name a teddy bear Muhammad, yet there are thousands of Muslim men named Muhammad or some variation thereof. How important is Muhammad to Islam and is it really heresy to name a teddy bear after him?

Do they actually think they can cover it up or make people forget about what is happening in Sudan or what is the deal? I have noticed this before. Why is it that when someone posts a question asking about some radical action by muslims, the question is deleted? If they think their religion is so great, then why don't they let people talk about what they are doing? Your thoughts please before this question gets deleted by some Muslim who doesn't want us talking about their religion.

Are those fundamentalists who want to stone a rape victim ANY different from:

-those Christians who starved Muslims to death in Yugoslavian camps, in the 90's?

-those Christians that killed, kidnapped and terrorized each other in Northern Ireland in the 80's and 90's?

-that American Christian President who has bombed whole nations, killing and maiming innocent women and kids, on the grounds that "God talked to me and told me to go to war"??

-those Catholics (including the very Church) that collaborated with the Nazis in the Holocaust?

-those Christians like Tim McVeigh or David Koresh?

-those Christians that bomb abortion clinics and kill abortion doctors?

-those Christians that assault immigrants in France, England and Spain?

-those Christians that until recently (the 60's) used to hang Afro Americans and burn their houses, in front of their kids?

-those child-molesting Catholic priests?

-those Christians that deny gay people their rights, in the very "land of the free"?
