Had the writers of these documents written about or referenced anything that wasn't common mundane and essentially in their back yard I would be much more impressed with it.
I never cease to find it humorous that some are impressed by the mundane and obvious things that are in the bible. There is at least one post a day from someone declaring the bible true because some geographical reference in it actually existed.
I can only say I might find it fascinating had the writers mention some animal that didn't exist in their part of the world.

Would the Bibles version of Eve be persuaded? Naturally. She is representative of the inferiority of woman as practiced by the Church. She is weak and unable to resist temptation, even from a gnat.
Sounds like something fitting for a bible class song: There once was a gnat eating some dung, then a beetle ate the gnat, and a snake ate the beetle, the marsupial ate the snake, the water buffalo ate the marsupial and then convinced Eve to eat the Apple, and we all go straight to hell hell hell, and we all go straight to hell.

Manatees are cute -- kinda like huge, blubbery water cows. Women like cute animals, so she probably would have listened to a talking Manatee.
Dung beetles are nasty and tiny, so no. Alpacas spit. Water buffalo actually stink like poo. So do many marsupials. Gnats lack credibility.
EDIT: LOL @ Bettie. Are you suggesting that Adam was somehow lacking? *ahem*

As with all animals regardless of a manatee or snake, the fact is that animals cant talk...so she should have been suspicious from the start......also snakes are the most cautious of all the animals, and it would not be likely that a snake would have been so keen to be near a human

With women these days and their irrational fears, you'd think a snake would have sent Eve running. I think Satan should have disguised himself as a puppy. That would have been more endearing. Nothing like a demon puppy to ruin the rest of eternity for humans. Besides, all the puppies on the calendar at my co-worker's desk are demons. Their eyes...*shiver*
Anyway. Best to find a woman that's not afraid of a snake. +2 points for me. ;]

Dear sweet Brandon,
I am not sure that a manatee can survive on dry land...?
But an alpaca... perhaps... but ONLY if he was wearing a lovely sweater knitted out of the softest alpaca wool !!!!

you opened this question up and i saw someone talking about satanic puppies, enough, no demon dogs.
but I did know some demon cats,
I digress
if you had taken the time to read, you would have known that the snake was the most subtle of creatures.
i take it you don't believe the bible to be true and that is your right. What do you believe in? what will be the end and final resting state of what is conscious in you, the intellect part?

Probably, she sounded pretty gullible.
And on a serious note, the depiction of the "serpent" was actually a distortion of an older religion. It's fairly typical to turn old gods into evil gods when promoting a new faith.

Probably--everyone knows how evil the manatees are in their hearts. Thoroughly vile creatures.
I think satan should have appeared as a puppy

I think the devil would have failed as a manatee because a snake is so much more credible.
