The plant I work at is closing down next week. There is NOTHING to do. My boyfriend works in the layout dept. and HIS whole department got this whole week (and probably all next week) off with pay. For some unknown reason, my department (customer service) has to show up and help pack. Should I feel guilty for sitting on my butt and browsing R&S instead of making myself useful? Is this much of a moral dilemma?

Can't be job hunting. We're waiting to see if my boyfriend got a job out of state. I don't know WHERE I'm going to be hunting for jobs.

How did I miss this question??

This is all I do at work when I have free time. Don't tell anyone but I put calls on hold so I can finish my answers. ;)

Well, if it is any consolation, I vote No you should NOT feel guilty... because if you feel guilty I have to feel guilty and guilt is an emotion that takes too much energy thank you very much!

Sorry to hear about your employment situation though. Good luck!

Speaking as a business owner, if you're getting paid and not doing your job, that is tantamount to theft. My employees are free to use their computers to surf on their breaks and after work, but if they surf on work time, they're gone, and they know it.

Morally, only you know how you sleep at night.

(Of course I can go online whenever I want, because I'm the boss :-)

I don't have time to do anything but work while at work, happily so.

I'm sorry you're closing down. B**stards.

You're probably the only one here who can do it without feeling guilt. Heck, you can probably drink real booze for the drinking game without feeling any guilt.

I need help too! Is there a 12 step program?

Yes, you should feel guilty, because I don't get to play on a computer at work. I bust my @ss all night long, and I probably get paid less than you.

Heck no. I do it all the time. It's great to be the queen.

And sorry to hear about your job. That sucks.
