The bible starts off with a war in "heaven" in the first and ends with numerous wars in the book of revelation. How do Christians reconcile the fact that Ahem..... God knew all these events would happen in advance?

I am sorry but I feel a bit confused with Islam (again) ..

Islamic society would rather committ murder than have someone make a reference to Muhammed in a manner which they don't like.

Yahoo news has "Thousands of people are marching in Khartoum calling for British teacher Gillian Gibbons to be executed"

This is not God's religion but their religion ... in other words ... Surely Allah didn't want people to kill eachother just because we make a silly reference to Muhammed to a class of babies??

Then again Islam has always been a bit over the top and outdated... hence terrorism ... and the belief that through violence they will achieve anything?
Over and over again history shows that this is not the case and yet they believe that they will go to heaven.

And in any case is it really the place of man to decide who dies and who doesn't ... perhaps Islam needs to be reminded that they are Allah?

Any other views??

How do we come to this point? One of the most famous verses in the bible is John 3:16. The whole religion (at least in my limited understanding) was supposed to be based on the love of a Father for his children. And according to the new testament in numerous places, some of the main things Jesus taught were love & grace. So why are so many of us filled with hate & scorn? I ask this not to rebuke, but with a bone deep sadness. I'm curious, as to how many of us were led to the love & compassion of Jesus by the threat of hell hanging over our heads. So WHY do we try to tear sinners apart to "save" them? Are there really that many of us without sin (John 8:7)? And all this time I thought HE was the only one with that claim. So when we "witness" to someone who hasn't accepted Jesus by telling them they are damned to hell, who's work are we doing? Who's going to start a HEALTHY relationship with Christ based on the fear that he will burn them alive for eternity if they don't?

So I asked a question if a tool can be blamed for evil and the majority said it is the user of the tool.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlWZlucvq_iXTtTx31QJ4bDd7BR.;_ylv=3?qid=20071130091005AAZzJB9

If that is the case then why do people blame religion for being evil? The religion is a tool, it is inanimate and can be used for purposes both sacred and profane. Why do the people insist on blaming the religion when it is the people who use it for evil? The evils done by the church are done by men for their own selfish motives, but that does not change what the tool was meant to accomplish. It also does not mean the religion actually teaches people to do such a thing. It works in the same way with science, by itself science is neither good nor evil it is how you use it. Curing disease would be a good outcome but if someone started a war to give natural selection a helping hand it would be an evil outcome of the use of science. So why do we call religion evil if it is man?

Anyone asks about any aspect of Islam, they respond by criticizing bible.

My question is:

1 – Why would you Muslim assume the asker is a Christian?
2 – Instead of becoming DEFENSIVE could you really answer the questions?

My plan is to set up a foundation to have have JW's go to Sudan from the USA, and ring doorbells in the Martyr's Square neighborhood. I figure they may be able to convert a few people; if not, at least they will quit bothering me while I am trying to do a little yardwork.

Did you guys not look at the article? I thought it might occur to atleast a few people that there are a lot of disturbing and horrific things that go on in nature. The suffering is unimaginable.

That suffering wouldn't exist without evil, and without the fall. The consequences of the entrance of evil into the world are mind-boggling... mind-boggling to just me I guess.

I have to write a paper that is Saul and his future self (Paul) debating their different views. I have alot of notes on Paul denying Jewish law but we did not really cover why Saul thinks the law is very important and needs to be part of christianity. So if anyone could help me out with this I would really appreciate it...i need to compare and contrast their views on jewish law, circumcision, the figure of abraham, the christian attitude about the messiah and the acceptance of gentiles. And if you know any places in the NT or OT that backup your info. Thanks again!

try this experiment with me:

1- say "beetlejuice" 3 times and see if he appears....

2- no now go to your mirror and say "candyman" five times....

3- or if you prefer, because he didn't kill you, say "bloody mary" five times into the mirror.

let me know the results then we can move on to phase 2.

Phase 2:

ok, now pray to god for something. see if he gives it to you.

record the results of your experiments in the answers.

Dec. 25th is nothing more than the rebirth of the Sun after winter solstice, in 275 CE the Romans dedicated Dec. 25th to their SUN god Sol Invictus. So why do you Christians get so bent out of shape about this imaginary war on Christmas?

Happy unHolydays.
