Did you guys not look at the article? I thought it might occur to atleast a few people that there are a lot of disturbing and horrific things that go on in nature. The suffering is unimaginable.
That suffering wouldn't exist without evil, and without the fall. The consequences of the entrance of evil into the world are mind-boggling... mind-boggling to just me I guess.

Richard F... I guess I was right, empathy is lacking. Anybody that says an all-good all-holy God designed such suffering... is sick.

If we go by Christian theology, God created Satan, and is ultimately responsible for everything that happens in "creation". Even the idea of free will does not change this. An all knowing cause of the universe would necessarily be responsible for everything that occurs in said uuniverse.

God created the wasp and the cockroach BEFORE the fateful apple bite.
As displeasing as the article is, it is God's creation. Rather than be disgusted, you should marvel in God's wonderful design. All of creation shouts of His glory.
You need to move past this wasp/cockroach thing.
Edit: #3 - Empathy is not lacking. What you describe is the cycle of life. Everything is both predator and prey at some point. Even when the mighty lion dies, his body decomposes which provides for numerous life forms. Watching a lion chase, catch, kill and eat a gazelle is no less horrifying than the wasp/cockroach story. I'm not really sure the cockroach is suffering that much, they can live weeks without a head. Strange insect, the cockroach. One could even extend this argument to the plant kingdom. Grow a beautiful plant, which itself reproduces, and have a deer come along and eat it, killing and destroying it...horrible. Deforestation for lumber... equally horrible.
I empathize for the cockroach, but that is one of his purposes. I empathize for the gazelle, same story. Death is horrible and as you rightly pointed out, death is the direct result of sin being introduced into the world. Sin being introduced is not God's fault, it is man's fault.

The idea that the existence life, evolved to propagate itself in many forms is evil, shows how crazy faith based religion is.
Suffering is a normal part of living, unfortunately. We as humans have evolved to understand that it is possible to attempt to alleviate some of that suffering. And many of us try very hard to make that happen.
Science has made suffering through life allot more bearable. We have indoor plumbing, modern medicine, communication technology, central air and heat, all provided by science to alleviate suffering.
Religion, does not attempt to alleviate suffering, instead it offers a way to avoid it, that can only be obtained after death.
The 'evil' label that religion places on suffering is created to bolster belief and build fear to support religious doctrine.
There is no evil, there is irrationality, which we should all try to stop.

How is a wolf eating a rabbit evil?
How is a wasp catching a grasshopper and laying its eggs in the grasshopper's skull, leading to the equivalent of grasshopper schizophrenia, evil?
These are simply natural things that go on, neither good nor evil.

Suffering exists. That's life. It has nothing to do with evil, or "the fall". Those are religious concepts for which there is no empirical evidence.

huh? i don't know what the posted imaginary scenario has to do with nature other than the nature of the strange imagination of the human mind. there is nothing "evil" in nature. nature does what it does and human morality concepts don't play into it.

Only through suffering can peace be obtained.
I hope you don't think it nice if a wasp dies of starvation.

Why would god create Satan, if he knew that Satan would ruin everything?
You have not thought your religion through to its logical conclusions...
