yes you are seeing it correctly, Islam is a dangerous radical religion, not to steal the fire and brimstone from others they're all bad in my opinion, however this is a religion that holds a special spot of loathing in me. People tend to call the harmful people of this religion "extremists" I disagree with that. These people that are bombing and killing others are only following verbatim what is in there holy book. I wouldn't call that extremism, I'd call it Islam.

You are right about one of the larger branches of Islam. I know many Moslems who are tolerant and good neighbors, but they seem to be in the minority in the world these days.
All these other posts which claim "all religions end in violence" and so on are worse than absurd. In case you guys havent noticed it, there arent any Baptist suicide bombers, and those airplanes werent flown into any buildings with knife-wielding Presbyterians at the controls. Anyone following the teachings of Christ, which are spelled out very clearly, will not be using violence as a means of conversion. Christianity is, and has normally been, spread by examples of Love, and a conversion is not to be done out of fear, but by a choice of those being given the Gospel. To lump all religions together is a position of ignorance. Besides that, the people doing the lumping are usually adherents of that most intolerant of all religions, Atheistic Secularism.

Well, so many people tend to agree with that point right now....and I'm HOPING its mainly the media that is shining a spot light on those certain instances.
I would also love to live happily next to my muslim, jewish or christian neighbors....but the nature of the human animal is to separate from eachother by what we are comfortable with.
Religion is unfortunately one of those comforts people pigeon hole themselves into. Radicals of every type religion are everywhere.
With the latest news revolving around Muslim issues, its hard not to only see those radicals.
I think its an age old debate that will never change and will only worsen and wane in time...just like it has done for a millenia. No religion has ever completely dominated humanity forever...they all come and they all go. Just a matter of time.

You are seeing it correctly, but appear to be focusing on Islam exclusively.
The truth is that all religion ends in violence and a belief system that justifies the destruction of a majority mankind.
We need to find a way passed these beliefs in myth, if we are to have a chance at making the future safer for our kids and the world.

The mistake is to see all Muslims as the same. When Pat Robertson says the attacks on 9/11 were the wrath of God for the acceptance of homosexuality in the US, was that a sign that all Christians are intolerant, or just the ravings of one cranky old man? Most Muslims are peaceloving people who have far more in common with everyday working Americans than they do with suicide bombers of any faith.

I think you pretty much see it how it is. Keep in mind that Christianity has the same fanatical tendencies, as do other exclusivist religions. Education combined with nipping fanaticism in the bud are the keys to controlling it, but in the case of fanatical Islam, the bud was not nipped and the Islamofascist regimes are not interested in educating their citizens.
